With over 40 years’ experience in forestry and sawmilling, Spike is your local timber supplier for both domestic and commercial projects.

Make the most of your fallen timber. Using our range of forestry tractors and mobile sawmills, we can move and mill almost anything — all on your property. From beams to planks, hardwood or softwood, we help you get the best return from your timber without the cost or hassle of transport.

We travel anywhere in the South West and mill timber to your exact requirements, whether for large-scale building projects or DIY at home — from raised beds to table and bar tops.

We keep hardwood and softwood in stock and can cut lengths of up to 20 feet. Available products include live-edge and air-dried planks, square planks, slabs, beams, lintels and posts. All timber is available to view, with bespoke orders welcome.

Firewood is available as pre-cut logs or can be processed at your home. Local delivery available.

We also supply handmade items including cake stands, cheese boards and chopping boards on request.

We will be starting the new season’s training sessions this Sunday 8th February.

Due to unprecedented interest on our open day, please now contact us to reserve your space to train on the team.
Spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
We train fortnightly at a cost of £25 per session to cover the cost of the wood, insurance, and the use of Spike’s equipment and facilities.

We’ve been a little off grid for a while as we relocated back to my home on Dartmoor. So much to share with you and hope the photos give you a taster of life down here in Devon!
Here’s a few pictures of our latest milling project working on the Dartmoor peatland restoration project, plus a few others including the newly reformed Devon Axe Team, cider making and moor land life…
