New Bearing time!

This weeks workshop jobs have all had wheel related issues.

These wheels were making an awful noise every time pressure was applied through the pedals.

Originally the noise sounded like it was due to a worn out BB, but on further inspection it was easy to see the problem was related to the rear wheel bearings and poor sealing of the hub on this particular brand of road wheel.

It is a common issue and have seen it many times before unfortunately.

New freewheel fitted.Previous one had bearings fail badly without much use!Branded product is always better!

Which photo is correct?

Photo 1 - Brake cable on outside of frame.
Photo 2 - Brake cable on inner of frame.

Winner = Photo 2 - Rear brake cable needs to be on inside of frame 👍
(Prevents the cable getting caught up if positioned correctly on the inside)

Bike came in for a service and had this issue from factory. Naughty naughty!
