Be part of maritime history and help build Cornwall's Community Tall Ship - Training Ship Silver Quest (TSSQ). After our volunteer proudly crewed her in the August 2014 Tall Ships Parade of Sail in Falmouth, we are now on to the next stage of construction, and looking for more keen hands on deck. When we have completed her TSSQ will tour the coast teaching maritime heritage, leading pirating skirm
ishes, and having public access aboard in all manner of ports and harbours, so that she can be used by the community for their own events, performances or parties. She will be the first ever Community Tall Ship. The transformation will turn the sea-going Scottish trawler hull into a 500 year old Carrack. The Carrack was the HGV of the seas and became the most influential ship design in maritime history, as well as being the first ever tall ship. And where better to build a Carrack, then in the Cornish district of Carrick. When the ship is built and is not touring, she will be based in Penryn, Flushing and Falmouth, and offer access to the public, with focus on the community and any groups who feel that they would like to gather upon a 500 year old piece of our maritime history.
