🏇 A superb day at Kingston Blount for the Berks & Bucks Draghounds Point-to-Point on Sunday, with James King stealing the show with a brilliant four-timer!

Three of the winners came for trainer Alan Hill - Normofthenorth, IK Brunel and Gorvitho - while No Hard Feelings completed the quartet for trainer Evie Toozer and owner Luke Price.

Highlights included:
⭐ Normofthenorth’s impressive 15-length victory
⭐ IK Brunel winning the Mixed Open for a third consecutive year
⭐ Gorvitho giving retiring Meeting Secretary Nick Quesnel a memorable farewell winner

Elsewhere, Katie Featherstone sealed the Leading Ladies’ Novice Rider title aboard Empire De Maulde, while 16-year-old Bruce Vaughan celebrated his first winner as a trainer with Designer Destiny.

The day also featured the ever-popular hound race, won by Marker. 🐾

A fantastic afternoon of racing in the Oxfordshire sunshine - thank you to everyone who supported the meet! ☀️

Ring the changes! The 1st of May is a very special day for those in the hunting world and no less so the B&B as we announce not one, not two but three joint masters to join and Victoria Ruffy

First up is Roger Edmunds with over 35 years of experience in the saddle, Roger is a seasoned equestrian who is truly at home in the field. A dedicated follower of hounds, he has a long-standing history in the hunting community, having previously been a subscriber to both the Berks and Bucks and the Staff College hunts.

Outside of his professional life, Roger’s passion for horses extends into a full-time lifestyle. Alongside his wife Sarah, he manages a small farm where they focus on home-producing horses from youngsters. Whether in the engineering office or following the pack, Roger brings a wealtJenny Robertse and a steady hand to everything he does.

Next up is our secretary Jenny Roberts who will be stepping into a new hybrid role. Jenny has been hunting since a child with a few naughty ponies, overseen by some fabulous stalwarts of the community. After backing her current horse Nina she decided eventing was a bit too slow and hunting was much more of a challenge! She’s keen to teach the next generation and canHolly Shorttund hearding up loose horses.

Finally is draghunt jack of all trades Holly Shortt who has previously run as secretary and most recently field master. Holly has a huge love of draghunting and actually got our other joint master on the hunting bandwaggon many moons ago at the Staff College. Holly is known for always piloting an ex-racer, being a great lead and everyone’s Master of Fun ❤️

The hounds really are the centre of it all. Be it your favourite cuddle hound at the meet or the one that has behaved the most… these hounds do work extraordinarily hard and are the product of an excellent team behind the scenes working on their training and welfare. We miss them through the summer but do look forward to seeing them at the ‘high days’ including The Point to Point, Windsor Horse Show, Yorkshire and Newbury show – be sure to come and see them there.
