We recently made up these curtains for a client in the prettiest design - the fabric is “Voysey Park” by The design is based on an original Charles Voysey (of Arts and Crafts period 1880-1910) design called “Ballard” which was in turn inspired by the Elizabethan (possibly earlier?!) Cluny tapestry in Paris “the Lady and the Unicorn” I love the simple little sprigs of flowers so medieval in their depiction. Lewis and wood have cleverly added a unicorn horn to one o lf the deer but alas - no lady!! But many pretty millefleur in the background.

Quality stands the test of time….
Fortunately I have clients who return to my services time and again. Yesterday I was fitting some curtains and blinds which are now in their 4th house. We made alterations to some of the curtains and made a couple of Roman blinds, keeping the ruffle and piping from the leading edge of curtains and adding to the hem. I love the clients artistic flair - she hand painted the beautiful Bloomsbury style lampshade with her dog running around…

Hoping that this Summer starts getting warmer here in the Uk. No sun hats required right now…. Anyway thought you might like another glimpse of balmy south of france project - swipe right through for the before shot - the terracotta tiles were the only surface that remained…. We kept the colour scheme light and airy and the perfect backdrop for adding pictures and rugs and brocante finds to over the years…

Bathroom layouts are sometimes like working in one of those little tile puzzles I had as a child!! (My children would think I’m very sad to have been so happy with that!!) anyway - The last couple of weeks has seen me working on a LOT of bathroom layouts and plans…. Here’s one I worked out and completed a couple of years ago and recently revisited again in the south of france… we did have to move the wall over by 50cm to get everything in, but client happy to have walk in shower and freestanding bath and a truly beautiful vanity - just couldn’t find anything as beautiful in France….. all taps and towel rails are who even have instructions in French!

The French builders and plumbers at this property in S of France - thought we were mad when we suggested knocking together a series of gloomy dark shower room coat cupboard and loo to make one large light and airy shower room- the tongue & groove panelling added some character and helped break up the space - swipe right through to see the before shots….. lovely little Volga linen ladder stitch at the window…
