Today is World Su***de Prevention Day. Over 350 tradespeople take their own life every year in the UK. One by the time you finish work today. Seven by the end of the week. Thirty by the end of the month. Construction has one of the highest su***de rates of any industry, and it takes far more of us than falls or site accidents ever do.

Ask the quiet one how they're really doing. Check in on the mate you haven't heard from. "You alright?" and actually waiting for the answer is enough.
