It’s been a cold and snowy start to the year.

And with the chilly weather looking set to stick around for a little while yet, these photos felt just right to share. They landed in our inbox recently from one of our lovely customers, and there’s something genuinely special about seeing a sofa properly lived in — relaxed, welcoming, and doing exactly what it’s meant to do.

If the cold and the snowy weather does stick around, our advice is simple: make the most of it. Get the fire on, put the kettle on (or pour a glass of red), pull a blanket close and settle in. Let the weather do what it likes outside while you stay warm, cosy, and comfortable indoors.

Chilly days are best enjoyed from the warm side of the window — especially when you’re curled up on a S.W. James.

I hope everyone’s keeping well — and warm — this January.

For anyone new to S.W. James and perhaps considering a new sofa this year, I thought I’d share a little about who we are, and why so many people choose us when it comes to something as important as a sofa you’ll live with for years.

We’re often described as one of the finest Chesterfield and sofa makers in England. But what matters more to us is why our customers say that.
