Still in Worcestershire. Almost every joint of this Elm frame has been repaired and rebuilt . Piece by piece. Joinery still to be fitted .

An incredible job by me and my guys ….. however literally you can’t see what we’ve done. The whole elevation has been dismantled, repaired and rebuilt.

We’ve been incredibly careful to conserve both the historic material and the spirit of this barn . A credit our ingenuity and our customers willingness to fund the heavy repair of this little barn . Rarely have we worked on a barn that will end up ………. A barn !

The elm barn was on the edge of ruinous but careful conservation bit by bit is saving it .
The biggest challenge is saving as much of the old as possible.

A repair I’m particularly pleased with . The rafters are a matched pair, sawn out of the same log . It would have been a crime to replace it . The repair is 2 pieces of 6mm plate laser cut to a ply template. Bolted through with coach bolts. Pure conservation.

Artist’s impression of a fully restored Sinai Park House with an extension to the South Wing. Although only small, this extension is key to the Sinai buildings working to create a Wellbeing Centre in the future. This is one of the options Purcell have explored in their Viability Study funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund.

A big job in Worcestershire. A Elm framed barn . Elm is used a lot around the country. It’s often mistaken for oak . Its not as durable as oak and prone to insect attack.
