After leaving school at 15 and going straight into work as a joiner, almost 40 years later. I am hanging up my tools and taking early Retirement. This has not been an easy decision, but after loosing my father 4 years ago, it has not felt the same running JD without his enthusiasm in what we did. So today we close the doors on manufacture of stairs and windows.
I would like to Thank my last 3 staff members Sandis Vilcans who without his help when Dad died, I would have called it a day earlier as he stepped up Franks role measuring and computerising Design Estimates etc. Also Albert and Paul who have been with us over 13 years. They are starting their own Stair co so will update that soon for our existing customers.
Also like to Thank all our customers who have stuck with us all these years and become good Friends. Hope to see some in future for a Pint or 2.
Nearly all machines have been removed now and rest in the next week or so. I am in process of selling my factories, but JD will still be open for now as consultant for projects. So once again Thank you all and been a pleasure knowing you all.
Lastly like Thank Kier Starmer, for all his help in the last 2 years for business owners. Making it so easy for us to pay our utility bills, putting wages up and taxes. As well as taking away reduced Business Rates for us also. What a guy!
