My mailbox has been stuffed to the brim everyday for the last two weeks with tile samples. We have two bathrooms to renovate. An ensuite in our bedroom (wet room) and the main family bathroom (full shower/bath).

My faves are almost everything TileCloud but sadly I can't get samples or find similar here in the UK.

I am obsessed with kitkat/finger style white tiles, patterned floor tiles in Terrazzo or concrete and very muted neutral/earthy colours throughout.

I found some incredible cabinetry pieces from ABI Interiors and their basins and Tapware are gorgeous. I have got my eye on all the gold pieces.

Which colour/tile concepts of mine do you like the best? Please comment below with the pic number.

So it's been a month now since I've been Alan's apprentice and I am loving every minute. We have almost finished the in Gerrards Cross. So far it's been an awesome experience.

Our garden rooms are built like a new build so I'm literally learning everything from the grown up. I will admit, the initial excavation works were tough -shovelling 30+ tonne of rocks and dirt up a ramp in 3 x 8 yard skips, but once this was done and the concrete layed - the fun started!

I will be honest I was a little nervous to work with Al.... often people advise not to mix work and relationships but I think we are not your regular couple πŸ˜‰. He has been patient. Also the added pressure of being a female in this industry means I am out to prove myself. I know I am as strong as anyone else we have had work for us and my determination and drive definitely gets me through the day.

My favourite part was last week getting when I got on the tools to put the frame together. Every day I used a new power tool and feel more confident onsite than I did the first few weeks. Surprisingly we haven't fought (yet). I will totally admit the ply sheets were beyond what I can lift on my own so Al held up the sheets whilst I used the nail gun. Which was so much fun!

Things I've learned so far...
* There is NO kissing on the work site πŸ’‹
* Measure twice, cut once
* Lunch breaks are 10 minutes long
* I can't lift ply sheets...YET
* Builders don't talk much
* My strengths are using a skill saw and installing insulation quickly.

So back to work today, we have to finish the roof structure, insulation and fibreglass.

We are working against the clock this week as we start another project next week. I'll post a time-lapse of the finished product at the end.

Happy Monday folks! 😊

Lest we forget.
ANZAC Day April 25th.

The ANZACs (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) were soldiers serving in Gallipoli during WWI. The term originated at that time, but is now used as a general term for Australian and New Zealand soldiers.
ANZAC Day is a national holiday in Australia and New Zealand celebrated annually on April 25. It is a joint public holiday to commemorate the Gallipoli landings during WWI It also commemorates all who’ve died in war fighting for the two countries.

Anzac Biscuits:
The crunchy Anzac biscuit was first baked by women on the Australian and New Zealand home fronts and sent across the sea to their soldiers. Originally named β€œSoldiers’ Biscuits” and containing just flour, sugar, milk powder and water, these simple biscuits were made to endure the journey at sea. It is said that the women back at home in WWI wanted to make biscuits for the men at war, as they were concerned they weren’t eating well. But as the country was on rations, the women had to make them without eggs. Anzac biscuits were said to provide great sustenance for soldiers fighting in the trenches.
