Carl Harry Stålhane designed this for Swedish ceramics manufacturer Rörstrand. He was for Rörstrand what Stig Lindberg was for Gustavsberg, enabling widespread popularity of their products.

I remember playing out dreams of far-away places together with the Kay Bojesen monkey when I was a child. This beloved monkey, with its mischievous look, lives in our teenage daughter's room. The monkey was designed in 1951, consists of 31 wooden parts and is manufactured in Denmark. Similar monkey in shop (www.scandesignclassic.com)

Stig Lindberg "Reptile" ceramics from our store (link in bio) Stig Lindberg, one of Scandinavias most important post-war designers was a Jack of all trades. He created fantastic ceramics, glass, textile and industrial designs and he was also a painter and illustrator.
