I often focus on sharing the finished work, but the process leading up to it is where the real craft happens.
This sketch formed part of the early concept development for a recently completed bar project, long before any materials are cut, finished or installed.
A design led approach gives clients clarity and confidence from the very beginning.
When a project is guided by clear design, the result is intentional. Without it, clients are left guessing about scale, proportion and how the piece will sit in the space.
It also allows us to explore lighting and atmosphere at an early stage, using colour and tone to establish the mood without any guesswork.
As designers and makers, we work with materials, lighting and spatial concepts every day, so visualising a finished piece becomes second nature. But clients are not exposed to this constantly, which is why clear visuals are essential. They bridge the gap between imagination and certainty.
We explore concepts through sketches and visual studies before developing full specifications and production drawings.
