CREATIVE TALKS - For Midheta Agic, the transition from a career in fashion to the craft of ceramics was a natural one.

To mark the arrival of her refined pieces on Modern Metier, the creative force behind returns for our very first “Creative Talks” interview – a candid conversation that highlights the person behind each piece – to discuss her self-taught approach to ceramics. A free-flowing exchange in which the founder discusses her journey, as well as the references that shape her work, notably her deep admiration for the architecture of the city of Nice, its Belle Époque villas, stucco work, and balconies. Midheta’s rich imagination comes through in the delicate ornamentation of her vases and lighting, each piece carrying an evocative name.

Modern Metier welcomes the refined ceramics of into its collection.

From her studio in Belgrade, Midheta Agic shapes clay instinctively, creating ornamental pieces that draw from Art Deco and classical architecture. The Vestale vase, the Vestige pendant lamp and the new Shell handles are glazed in deep tones of brown and garnet, each defined by a studied attention to form and detail. A sensibility that echoes the structured drape of gazar silk, from which the studio takes its name.

Happy New Year!

As we usher in the new year, I wanted to take a moment to thank our partners, designers and community for a year shaped by meaningful encounters and milestones.

This year marks our four year anniversary. From the beginning, my focus has been on building a platform that showcases European designers whose work we deeply admire. Seeing our debut collection with find its place in interiors around the world has been especially rewarding.

We are excited to share the new designers and collections we have been quietly working on behind the scenes, and I look forward to continuing this journey with you.

All my best, Minh

Modern Metier is excited to unveil the debut collection by French designer Astrid Houssin.

This collection features seven timeless pieces – a bedside table, mirror, tray, stool, chair, pouf, and shelf – each crafted with elegant lines and embellished with ornamental details, reflecting Astrid’s vision “to reintroduce decorative elements into furniture design.” Combining both “masculine and feminine influences”, and “inspired by modernist, neo–Art Deco, and Japanese styles” as the designer explains, these refined objects are handcrafted in Portugal and made-to-order.

Marking nearly a year since the launch of our first collection with Léa Zeroil (), we are unveiling our new monogram.

Conceived as a symbol of our role as an editor and curator, the form recalls a piece of furniture, anchored in the present. We imagined the way the ‘M’ would be applied to our collections, our choice of materials, and how it will accompany us through future collaborations.

With gratitude to the brilliant for visually shaping this chapter of Modern Metier.
