Keen to find new ways to support biodiversity, wildlife recovery and resilience. I am on the management committee of Laughton Greenwood, a 170-acre wood in East Sussex. Laughton Greenwood CBS is responsible for managing the woodland, supporting biodiversity and conserving it as a community asset. I am a member of the Woodland Trust, Sussex Wildlife Trust and the Royal Forestry Society, and regularly attend woodland management training courses run by the RFS, Plumpton College and others.

Ancient woodlands are the single most biodiverse land-based habitat in England but almost 40% of them have been lost and buried beneath conifer plantations.🌲🚫

Forestry England promised to restore these rare and precious habitats by 2030 – but they’ve already missed the Government’s targets once, and they’re falling behind again.

We can’t let this happen. These forests belong to all of us – and to future generations.💪

Join us in the woodland to help create our Easter Trail 🌿🐣

Sunday 29th March 10-3

This is a hands-on, creative day where we’ll be making decorations and installations together, then heading into the woods to build and hang the trail ready for others to enjoy.

Schedule: 10–12 – Art making, create pieces for the trail with wood and willow

12–1 – Bring your own lunch, gather by the fire

1–2 – Hanging the trail in the woodland

2–3 – Games by the Carpenter’s Hut

This is a pay what you can event – free / £5 / £10 depending on what feels right for you.

Come for the whole day or drop in for part of it.

Easter Trail & Family Workshop
🐇🌷🐣🌳🐇🌷🐣🌳🐇🌷🐣🌳

Workshop Sunday March 29th 10am - 3pm £5-£10pp

You are invited to join us for a family workshop making natural woodland trail for Easter. We will use chopped wood, willow, painting, weaving and found materials to create artwork that can hang from the trees.

The trail will remain in the wood for the whole of the Easter Holidays, please feel free to follow the trail and share pictures of the art you find!

Tickets are £5 per person, we also offer free tickets for those who need them.
