Here’s a remake of an Ercol Rocking Chair that I’ve SLOWLY been working on. When I picked the chair up the wood and upholstery was very dark, and generally unloved. After hours and hours of scraping and sanding of the wood, and tending to repairs, the frame has come up beautifully. I paired this with new upholstery, including a warm, peachy-coloured, woollen Bute fabric.

My first headboard, and what a headboard! I was blessed to be ask to re-upholster this stunning antique. The wooden laminate was firstly repaired by the master craftsperson Leo Norris. This lovely woollen tartan fabric from Abraham Moon compliments the wood beautifully.

This traditional chair and footstool had quite a transformation due to the excellent fabric choice of their owner. For me, it was a treat to be able to use traditional skills to rebuild some of the cushioning

Parker Knoll Statesman Chair and Footstool - it was a dream come true to be asked to re-upholster this iconic vintage chair and footstool that the owner had sourced. Her choice of suits the chair perfectly. It’s a delight to see it in its new home as a chilled-out reading seat.

Ercol Rocking Chair Refresh - it took A LOT of hours of scraping and sanding to remove the old, dark varnish. It’s now the fun time when I can start the rebuild of applying a fresh wood-finish to the beautiful wooden frame, and design and create new cushions.

Vintage Cintique Update - I’m all ears when there’s a emotional attachment to a chair. This old and tired chair belonged to the owner’s granny. Fully updated with the wood refreshed, and a complete update to the upholstery, the chair is now sitting back in the exact spot in the owner’s home where her granny used to sit.

Re-designed Adam Smith Theatre seats - if you ever sat in the front row at the Adam Smith Theatre, then you might just have sat in these seats: numbers 8 and 9. My lovely customer was lucky enough to buy 2 chairs when the theatre was refurbished.

Vintage Guy Rogers Manhattan Reclining Teak Armchair. This chair was one of a pair that I salvaged. The chair needed a complete overhaul: reviving the gorgeous afromosia wood frame, re-webbing and the re-upholstering - all elements that I love to do. It’s a complete testament to the beautiful original design that this chair can still live on

How beautiful are Ercol chair frames?!? I just feel that they need to be celebrated. I’ve complimented the frame with a spicy Moon fabric that’s aptly called ‘Fire’.
