Sometimes my clients have furniture they love and I have the task of working the scheme around it.

Here is a lounge I’m working on currently.. the bottle green velvet sofa and the yellow velvet chair are the items in question for this job. Instantly when I saw them I got Hollywood Glam vibes so I ran with that.. the great thing about mocking rooms up digitally is that it makes trying out different wall colours easy peasy and it really helps the client visualise the end result.

When creating a room design especially a bedroom, the mood or the feeling is the most important thing you want to portray. Think about how you’d like to feel in the space, think about where you were when you last felt that feeling and try to recreate it through accessories, textures, art and lots of little visually pleasing elements to ensure the feeling you’ve created stays around for a very long time. I would say though, try to keep it classic and not too themed, also be careful to not go all out on a current trend.. often the latest trends tend to expire quickly. And remember, less is more is key.. if you feel something is too much it probably is! Always trust your gut!👌🏼

I offer a virtual and an in person interior design service if you feel you would like some help designing your dream room. A big thank you and a warm Geek To Chic welcome to all my new followers.. let me introduce myself. My name is Sarah, I’m an Northern Irish Interior Designer, living in South West London.
After many years practicing Interior Design I felt I needed the qualifications to go along with the experience so in 2012 I decided to go back to Uni to study Art and Design, specialising in Interior Design. This was such a daunting experience for me as school was never my thing but I got through it and loved every minute.. coming out the other side in one piece and with a First Class Honours. 🙌🏻
Ever since graduating I’ve been teaching Interior Design to the lovely Ladies and Gents of Richmond Upon Thames . This has been challenging but also very rewarding! There is nothing better than seeing a student’s passion grow from enjoying rearranging their front room to starting their own business and doing beautiful things with the skills I’ve taught them. I love that!
Last but not least I’m a mum to a delightful (most of the time 🤪) 18 year old beauty. This is by far my biggest achievement! 🥰
