Something different, Something to enjoy….
The Wheatsheaf in Chilton Foliat has been renovated following new ownership, blending its historic character with a more welcoming, modern design. Ben Heath Furniture Makers and Hungerford Bookcase Co. contributed bespoke joinery and fitted furniture, including a durable, traditionally styled bar crafted with carefully chosen timber and finishes suited to the pub’s heritage and daily use.

Under the stairs…so versatile!
Under-stairs storage is sometimes a forgotten space, but it can be cleverly utilised for many practical and attractive solutions. One customer decided to install a red wine cellar under the stairs, creating a compact, cabinet for their day to day red wine.

Several rows of faux books were placed across the concealed section to match the owner’s plan to fill the other shelves. The faux books follow the same scale, color palette, and spacing as the real volumes, so the disguised door reads as part of the library at a glance. Mechanically, the concealed door operates on hidden hinges with an inset handle, ensuring smooth access while preserving the uninterrupted look of the joinery.

You never know what’s behind a shelving unit. This customer wanted a beautiful library but needed to conceal the door to a cloakroom. We designed a seamless solution that keeps the room’s rhythm and mystery intact: a bespoke bookcase with an integrated hidden door.

Can you imagine….

This space was actually being reserved for a wood burner? After living in the space, the underfloor heating did the job so well there was no need for a wood burner. Rather than leave an awkward recess unused, we transformed it into practical, beautiful storage and a display area that complements the room.
