How lovely are these dining chairs, now they have their new clothes on? These G-Plan dining chairs have been carefully restored to their former glory. This set of four elegant Mid-Century Modern chairs, untouched since brand new in 1972, underwent a comprehensive refurbishment, including new foam and foundations, wood restoration, and frame repairs. With access to a wide range of UK upholstery fabric suppliers, my client selected a stunning pure new wool fabric from Abraham Moon, which perfectly complements the wood tone and offers warmth, comfort, and durability. It's a really good job we love our pets! This customer has a family dog who seemed to get hungry every time he was in the room with this sectional sofa: the results can be seen in the before photos. I repaired the cushion foundations and replaced the wool top fabric with this very sturdy, durable and pet proof (is anything?!) Ferrara from Christina Marrone in this gorgeous blackberry colour. They wanted me to recreate the blind biscuit buttoning on the seat cushions and keep the scatters nice and squidgy. Job done and returned to happy customers just in time for Christmas.

This is one of two Cintique armchairs I was lucky enough to find, with their instantly recognisable seat spring units intact. After new foundations and fabric, this is how they left my workshop. I'd stored the frames for a while after having them soda blasted to remove the outdated dark polyurethane varnish, just waiting for the right client. They're now incredibly comfortable and beautifully finished in Teal Vita fabric from Christina Marrone. As well as renovating your furniture, I can source frames and vintage items, just give me a brief and lets go!

What a vibrant hue to dispel the winter gloom! This highly durable neon pink velvet from Sunbury Design was the perfect solution to introduce a splash of colour to my client's kitchen. Occasionally, it can be challenging to showcase the final installation of our custom pieces in a client's renovated space. So I was delighted to be invited back to witness the culmination of our collaboration with K.E.H Joinery on this bespoke bench and backrest. The client was thrilled with the end result, which met their requirements for a comfortable yet supportive seat and a low backrest that highlights the stunning internal stone mullioned window frames and buttons to reflect details from their fireplace. For this busy family with children and pets, we selected durable Warwick Lovely velvet with its antiqued finish that complements the period details of their lovely old home. It was heading towards Christmas, so of course it was dining chairs! These six beauties had lovely rustic frames, but my client was bored with the same old dark brown leather and was looking for something completely different. We decided not just to liven up the fabric, but to add biscult buttoning to the inside backs to give them much more detail. I think she was happy with the results: "The chairs are bloody gorgeous!!! Just unpacking them now - they make such a difference to the whole room..."

Sadly, these chairs were actually recently upholstered pretty well by a different team but the vinyl wasn't suitable hence the damage seen in the last photo. My client loves them though, so after discussing his preferences, I suggested they would be better in actual leather and he was keen to go with this option. He chose a beautiful chestnut semi-analine from Futura and don't they look great?

Delivered yesterday, I received this lovely text message pretty soon after: "Just to tell you how delighted I am with the reuholstery you've done on my chairs: you've done a beautiful job of them, and the leather is indeed gorgeous. Thank you."

After hand studding each individual decorative nail for what seemed like hours, it's all worth it when I get messages like that one.

It’s taken such a lot for Ant to post this as he’s tried and tried to keep everything going but he’s now in an awful position. This much loved shop has been such a boost for both the arcade and the town centre and has been a place I’ve been honoured to work in. You wouldn’t believe how hard he’s worked to both build the business and contribute to the wider Arcade and town centre community. He’s become a good friend and it breaks my heart he’s had to come to this.everyone who can, please pop in and support him, the gifts, art, cards and of course flowers and plants are unique, great quality and well priced. If you could spare anything at all for the go-fund me, that would be amazing. Ant sees and reads all the messages you write and the level of support has been wonderful so far. Thank you all. X

What do you do when you love your dining chairs—they're comfortable and perfectly complement your kitchen—but the vinyl upholstery is starting to delaminate and look worn? You consult a professional upholsterer to recommend a durable, suitable fabric. In this case, I recommended Pelle by Sunbury Design—a commercial-grade material known for its resilience in high-traffic environments. Two Ercol pieces from distinct collections, united with beautiful wool fabric cushions. The worn wood finish was stripped and meticulously refinished with a Danish oil treatment, while the perished Pirelli straps were replaced with authentic ones tailored to each frame. Brand new foam cushions finish this revitalized set, which my client now enjoys lounging on regularly as it's sooooo comfortable. This is one restoration project I was particularly reluctant to part with!
