🔵U12 Juniors Coaches Report⚪️
The games are coming thick and fast for our U12 Juniors, who hosted Bartestree this morning in another highly competitive fixture.
Bartestree started brightly, forcing Lucas P into early action, bravely claiming the ball at the winger’s feet. The defensive trio of Louis H, Archie R and Charlie C were kept busy as the visitors looked to press their advantage, and they found the breakthrough when Lucas P made a smart save, only for the striker to follow up and tap home.
That goal sparked a reaction from the Juniors, who showed their trademark resilience as they looked to respond. In midfield, Zayn P was pulling the strings alongside Charlie S, both working tirelessly to win possession and drive the team forward. Thomi S found himself through on goal but couldn’t keep his shot down, before Charlie S unleashed a driven effort towards the corner, only for the Bartestree keeper to produce a brilliant full-stretch save on the stroke of half time.
The half-time team talk was clear — keep making the right decisions and move the ball quickly.
Both sides adapted well to the conditions after the restart, producing some excellent football from back to front. Out wide, combinations of Thomi S, Finnley J, Musa T and Chase B looked to stretch the play, while Charlie S and Zayn P continued to buzz around in midfield. At the back, Louis H was immense, winning headers, tackles and blocks all over the pitch as Bartestree looked dangerous on the counter.
Despite the Juniors pressing for an equaliser, the ball just wouldn’t fall kindly, and the game looked to be slipping away. But in true Juniors fashion, they refused to give in. Deep into injury time, a free-kick from Zayn P forced a save from the Bartestree keeper, and Thomi S reacted quickest to fire home with virtually the last kick of the game and securing a deserved draw.
