🔵 U12 Juniors Coaches' Report ⚪️

Our U12 Juniors hosted Wellington this morning at City Sports. Both teams know each other well, so another closely fought contest was expected — and that’s exactly what we got.

The Juniors started brightly, with Oscar J going through one-on-one early on, only to see his shot go just wide. Wellington capitalised shortly after, breaking through in the 5th minute and finishing well to take a 1–0 lead. The visitors grew in confidence and soon after won a penalty, which was calmly slotted into the corner to make it 2–0.

Lucas P was called into action several times, making brave saves at the striker’s feet and a superb point-blank stop to keep the Juniors in the game. Just before half-time, Zayn P rattled the bar, showing that the Juniors weren’t going to roll over easily.

Half-time brought a couple of changes in personnel and system — and an instant impact. In the first minute of the second half, Oscar J latched onto a great pass from Charlie A and fired into the roof of the net to make it 2–1. Game on!

Wellington then regained their composure and began moving the ball well. The match became evenly balanced, with both sides battling hard. Wellington were awarded another penalty, but this time Lucas P produced a brilliant diving save to keep his side within one goal.

As the Juniors pushed for an equaliser, the game opened up. Unfortunately, Wellington managed to grab a third late on. Zayn P replied with a smart lob over the ‘keeper to make it 3–2, but time ran out for the comeback.

⭐ Player of the Match: Lucas P — Excellent with the ball at his feet and produced several fine saves, including a fantastic penalty stop.

Well done, Lucas! 👏

🔵 U12 Juniors Coaches Report ⚪️

Our U12 Juniors hosted Toro’s in the first round of the cup on Sunday morning. Coming off the back of last season’s memorable cup win at Edgar Street, the team were eager to begin another strong cup run.

The Juniors started brightly, with Thomi S and Charlie S both finding the net early to give the team control of the game. Toro’s showed resilience, however, and grew into the first half. Just five minutes before the break they pulled a goal back on the counter, leaving the Juniors with a narrow 2–1 lead at half-time.

The second half began with fresh energy after some changes, and it was Zayn P who set the tone, firing a superb strike from distance into the top corner. From there, the Juniors pushed on and extended their lead with further goals from Thomi S, Charlie S, Charlie A, and Musa T, securing a comfortable win and a place in the next round.

⭐ Player of the Match: Charlie A

Charlie’s tireless work rate made a huge impact, both in attack and out of possession. He was a constant threat going forward, scoring a well-deserved goal, while also winning the ball back on countless occasions. Outstanding performance – well done, Charlie!

🔵⚪️ U12 Coaches Report 🔵⚪️

Our U12 Juniors travelled to Fownhope last night to take on early league leaders Phoenix Rovers in another midweek fixture, with games coming thick and fast for this group.

It was the Juniors who carved out the first chance of the match when Chase B tested the home goalkeeper from distance. That chance sparked Phoenix into life, and Lucas P was soon called into action, making a save from the Phoenix winger who went through 1 on 1.

The breakthrough came after just six minutes when Phoenix’s central midfielder found space on the edge of the box and struck superbly into the top corner. Two more well-worked goals quickly followed, giving Phoenix a commanding 3-0 lead inside 12 minutes.

The Juniors refused to fold and got themselves back into the contest when Oscar J latched onto a long goal kick from Lucas P and finished smartly. Phoenix, however, responded instantly, their winger breaking in behind again and this time making no mistake to restore the three-goal cushion.

Back came the Juniors. Charlie S played in Oscar J, who raced clear to grab his second of the game. Moments later, Finnley J went close with a header from an Archie R free kick. From the Phoenix goal kick, Archie R won the ball back, found Flynn G, whose shot from range was parried – and Oscar J reacted quickest to tap home and complete his hat trick, bringing the score to 4-3. Zayn P went close just before the half-time whistle, but the Juniors went in trailing by a single goal after a breathless first half of football.

The second half began in much the same fashion. Phoenix tested Lucas P early, but he was equal to it with another fine save. At the other end, Flynn G’s free kick was tipped away by the Phoenix keeper. Both sides continued to play some attractive football, but unlike the first half, defences and goalkeepers came out on top. With just five minutes left, Phoenix broke through again to make it 5-3, seeing out the game and handing the Juniors their first defeat of the season.

🌟 Players of the Match 🌟

Oscar J – a superb hat trick and a constant threat to the Phoenix defence.

Lucas P – pulled off several excellent saves to keep the game alive.

Plenty of positives to take despite the result – well done lads! 🔵⚪️

🔵U12 Juniors Coaches Report⚪️

The games are coming thick and fast for our U12 Juniors, who hosted Bartestree this morning in another highly competitive fixture.

Bartestree started brightly, forcing Lucas P into early action, bravely claiming the ball at the winger’s feet. The defensive trio of Louis H, Archie R and Charlie C were kept busy as the visitors looked to press their advantage, and they found the breakthrough when Lucas P made a smart save, only for the striker to follow up and tap home.

That goal sparked a reaction from the Juniors, who showed their trademark resilience as they looked to respond. In midfield, Zayn P was pulling the strings alongside Charlie S, both working tirelessly to win possession and drive the team forward. Thomi S found himself through on goal but couldn’t keep his shot down, before Charlie S unleashed a driven effort towards the corner, only for the Bartestree keeper to produce a brilliant full-stretch save on the stroke of half time.

The half-time team talk was clear — keep making the right decisions and move the ball quickly.

Both sides adapted well to the conditions after the restart, producing some excellent football from back to front. Out wide, combinations of Thomi S, Finnley J, Musa T and Chase B looked to stretch the play, while Charlie S and Zayn P continued to buzz around in midfield. At the back, Louis H was immense, winning headers, tackles and blocks all over the pitch as Bartestree looked dangerous on the counter.

Despite the Juniors pressing for an equaliser, the ball just wouldn’t fall kindly, and the game looked to be slipping away. But in true Juniors fashion, they refused to give in. Deep into injury time, a free-kick from Zayn P forced a save from the Bartestree keeper, and Thomi S reacted quickest to fire home with virtually the last kick of the game and securing a deserved draw.

🌟 Players of the Match
• Louis H – Colossal at the back, reading the game superbly and making vital interventions all afternoon winning tackle after tackle as well as winning the aerial duels.
• Zayn P – The heartbeat of midfield, breaking up play and creating countless chances going forward looking to hurt the oppostion with every forward pass.

🔵 U12 Juniors Coaches' Report ⚪️

Our Juniors team hosted Hereford Pegasus last night in a midweek clash as this hugely competitive league looks to get some early fixtures in the books.

Pegasus started brightly, pressing high and pinning back the Lads Club wing-backs, which left the Juniors’ midfield working overtime to cover spaces and support attacks. The Juniors found it difficult to get out of their own half and string passes together. After 25 minutes, Pegasus broke the deadlock when their winger drove down the right and fired in a cross-shot that found the far corner. The Juniors looked for an instant reply, with Chase B forcing a fine save from the Pegasus keeper.

Half-time allowed the Juniors to regroup and tweak their system – and the reaction was clear. They began moving the ball up the pitch with more confidence, finding combinations that started to trouble Pegasus. Combinations of Charlie S, Flynn W, and Theo L linked up well in midfield, easing the pressure on the defence and supporting the forwards. At the back, Charlie C limited space for the Pegasus winger, while Louis H and Archie R stood strong as ever.

The breakthrough came when Finn J, instrumental in linking midfield to attack, weaved his way into the Pegasus box and squared for Oscar J, who made no mistake in notching his first goal of the season and levelling the score. Momentum swung towards the Juniors, though Pegasus still looked dangerous on the counter, forcing Lucas P into a sharp save.

The introduction of debutant Zayn P brought fresh creativity, with his vision and attacking intent carving out chances. With 15 minutes to go, Lucas P’s goal kick found Oscar J, who beat his marker and finished clinically to put the Juniors 2-1 ahead. The pressure continued, with Theo L denied by another strong save. Soon after, Zayn P slipped a neat pass through to Thomi S, who burst into the box and calmly tucked home the third.

In the closing moments, Archie R’s free kick was tipped over before the resulting corner saw Theo L fire the ball into the far corner from a Zayn P delivery – sealing a superb 4-1 comeback win just as the heavens opened!

🌟 Player(s) of the Match 🌟
Too many excellent performances in the second half to choose just one – so it was shared between Finn J, Oscar J, Theo L, and debutant Zayn P.

👏 Huge thanks again to Infinite Building for sponsoring the team and for their generous sponsorship of the Juniors’ brand-new kit, set to be unveiled this weekend.🔵⚪
