A set of chairs that needed some love and attention. In all three cases, the frames were in fantastic condition but the upholstery was weary. Not anymore!

This is the second chair I have reupholstered for Kate. It had some cat damage and was looking rather dated. She chose a lovely printed fabric which has added a little whimsy. It has totally transformed the style of the chair. There are so many lovely prints around at the moment. Are you a fan of pattern?

This cocktail chair had faded in the sun and squeaked when you sat on it. I fixed the loose back and reupholstered it in this stunning bouclè from . It’s amazing how fabric can transform a piece of furniture. This chair has gone from bold and playful to soft and elegant as my Client’s tastes have changed and her children have grown up.

A pair of Howard style armchairs, with traditional upholstery feather backs, just needed a recover and new seat cushions. Commissioned by for her client in Belsize Park who chose this beautiful pink herringbone fabric and a contrasting green piping for the outside of the chairs, to tie in with some beautiful botanical curtains she has in her bedroom. Even the legs were upholstered! Sweet 🍬

Of course the final upholstery job of the year would be the biggest head-scratcher. I thought making new cushions for this Ercol chair would be straightforward. That was before I saw the cushion: curves in every direction! With a lot of perseverance and quite a bit of swearing I managed to recreate the shape and make new bouclè covers. Another supremely comfortable Ercol chair. All wrapped now for the Christmas break. Who’s got the bubbly and mince pies?! Have a great break everyone. May your holidays be fun-filled and restful. Penultimate upholstery job of the year delivered today, along with the final one, which I will show you tomorrow. Lovely jobs for the gorgeous , who waited patiently for me to get these done for her so I wanted to make sure she had them in time for Christmas. Jess has a pair of inherited Ercol Windsor armchairs. She had bought new cushion pads online and brought them to me to make new covers. She chose this smart wiggle fabric from Linwood in two orange shades; carmine and marmalade. Here is the Carmine version. Beautifully designed chairs!
