I've been meaning to share this little beauty for ages, sorry Kathy! This was Kathy's Mum's chair that she bought when she got married in 1958. I think I remember Kathy saying that both her Mum and Dad chose a chair each to celebrate their marriage, Kathy's Mum clearly has good taste :) We wanted to keep the re-upholstery sympathetic to the original but at the same time fitting in with her red and grey modernist colour scheme, I hope we did it justice.

Despite having neglected my online presence here recently, there has been tonnes going on behind the scenes including lots of lovely clients chairs reupholstered and a really exciting new business collaboration with luxury vintage furniture brand Self.

I am also really chuffed to pieces to share that I recently won a Best of Houzz 2017 award for Customer Service! And I have my lovely clients to thank for that for taking their time to write their reviews! So THANK YOU so much if you have, I am really grateful.

From boring beige headboard to a bold, bright statement! I loved working with this gorgeous printed linen by Christopher Farr Cloth. Very happy client too, hurrah ☺️

Just delivered to a happy customer, Yay! A fantastic original Cintique Easy Chair, restored and re-upholstered in this gorgeous fabric from Kirkby Design.

This Mid-century beauty is a little piece of family history having been passed down to my client when his grandfather passed away. I so love being able to give pieces like this a new life, especially when they hold happy family memories :)

One of the biggest technical challenges I've had to date, but this bold Vintage Egg Chair is complete and i'm really happy with the results... Especially the almost invisible buttons 😝, it's all in the details! I can't wait to see it in my lovely clients home office.

.. Together we raised almost £10,000 for the Alzheimers society to transform the interiors of more Alzheimers day care centres across the country. Thanks again to everyone involved, and for all the super generous donations of fabrics, paints and materials from Kirkby Design, Farrow & Ball and Wickes.

How are our auction chairs doing now?? Does anyone have any pics of them in their new homes?

Chairs for Charity was a fantastic community project we ran in January 2015 to transform the furniture and environment of an Alzheimer’s day care centre in Dorking, Surrey.

We celebrated the opening day by holding a fundrasing auction of donated and transformed chairs, furniture and other fab prizes.

The chairs you see here were restored and re-upholstered by Vicky and her team of awesome volunteers.

On the day we exceeded all our expectations and raised just shy of £10,000 in order for the other Alzheimers Society centres across Surrey to be transformed in the same way.

A great big hello and welcome to the shiny new page for Vicky Cable Upholstery Studio, a workshop & design studio dedicated to restoring and transforming antique, vintage and modern furniture.

I'm super excited to show off a selection of our recent projects for clients in London and Surrey... and I'm really looking forward to sharing more of our work, techniques, our ethos and our people here, along with what's inspiring and motivating me daily. So stay tuned furniture folks :)
