I was inspired by my 8 year old niece, Emma, who showed me a patchwork quilt she had made. I’d always wanted to sew but lacked the confidence. However, when Emma showed me her creation I thought if she can do it then so can I, and so my creative journey began. I like to bring my own personality and style into everything I make. I’ve never been one for sticking to the trends and so my products are
all about being a little bit different! They are bright and colourful, but they also have a touch of whimsicalness too because that’s me! I love colourful things and if they have a bit of sparkle too, well that is just the icing on the cake! I love colour, embellishments, sparkle & shiny stuff! So that is where the Whimsical Magpie came from. It says a lot about me, my tastes and personality. As my son’s will tell you, I am just a little bit quirky! I’ve always sought furniture, gifts and homewares that are just that little bit different. I like owning something that has a bit of a personality and so that is what I want to reflect in my products too. All my items are handmade by me in the lovely surroundings of North Yorkshire from my little craft room.
