Good Earth Gardens I offer a friendly and professional garden maintenance service using organic methods in Glastonbury and surrounding villages.

What I do: Restorative pruning, shrub shaping, planting design, laying turf, creating new beds, hand-weeding, pruning small trees Qualified and experienced gardener with RHS Certificate in Horticulture, as well as Permaculture Design, I am interested in creating harmonious and well-planted gardens which are both beautiful and sustainable. I don't use chemical fertilisers, pesticides or herbicides

and prefer to use hand tools rather than power tools wherever possible. I love cottage gardens, vegetables, herbs and companion planting, making compost, flower meadows, native plants, ponds and also, the history behind the plants we commonly see in gardens. Previous to qualifying, I worked for two years for a busy garden maintenance company in Bristol, where I learnt 'on the job'. I am happy to prune large shrubs and small trees, create planting plans, lay turf, create small rockeries and ponds.

Apparently today in London, it's all about wood sorrel, bluebells and Garlic Mustard (or 'Jack by the Hedge' as I know it!) Here in Glastonbury, Somerset, the Camassia (native to the USA) is just starting to bloom in Glastonbury Abbey. I love these videos for their directness and lack of jiggory-pokery!
