Next up ,Eric Moutal from Vancouver in Canada got to hit the famous Chippendale gong on completion of his truly stunning Oak writing Desk with a cracked ice veneer drawer base with the addition of mother of pearl inlays for wow factor. His attention to detail and quality craftsmanship is shown in abundance in this local Oak writing desk with his signature sloped corners.
So proud Eric and can't wait to see your next project which is going to be a beautiful chair with Eric's signature style incorporated .👏👏.eric

Bit later posting these next 2 posts Firstly Rory from Scotland rang the gong last week after completing his first project , this stunning console table with bobbin legs in Local sycamore is a tasteful and classic design that would look great in a country home or a New York loft .. I know I say this about all of my students but I am so proud of him ..well done Rory and thank you for the round at Muirfield, it was a lovely way to celebrate 🙏👏

Michael from Utah rang the gong this afternoon...he's first project completed designed and crafted by his own 2 hands.

It began as a sketch on a screen, then a model and prototyping to the Final piece in Solid form, a beautifully considered Local Cherry Cadenza.

Hand made fabric created from H**p is seen through the slated doors and lovely walnut stitching in some of the imperfections of the timber , celebrating it rather than disguising it.

Well done Michael .cru_furniture can't wait to see the next piece 👏

Decided to start using up the off cuts from under my bench , Olive Ash , Walnut , Sycamore and Sapele all make an appearance in this fun little desk tidy ...watch this space for a series of different boxes using off cuts and materials left over from bigger projects

Lucky again this year to have an amazing bunch of students on the 9 month Designer and Maker Course !! My group is flying and their first designs are springing to life ..Not just my group but all of the tutor groups .. We couldn't be more proud of every single one of them.
We ask a lot of them every single year and they always deliver above and beyond 👏👏

I was also lucky enough to teach a one week course during the half term break from the main course. A great bunch from all over, We got them to make a Box with Wooden hinges , a Coffee Table and they all got to turn a beautiful Oak bowl with help from ..some going in a week but they smashed it !!

A job close to my heart ....Castle Park Golf Clubs brief was to design and make a new Reception desk to give the club house a facelift....happy with the results and so were the clients 🏌🏻
