Another cracking day milling beams with the Peterson 10” WPF.

This mill quickly and efficiently cuts a maximum of 10” x 20” (250mm x 500mm) and any size in between, for example 6”x 2”, 10” x 1”. 8”x6”

It’s a fast and cost effective way to mill your own logs on your own site.

You’ll also get one slab from each log if desired.

When you have some seriously big logs to mill you need some seriously big equipment to handle and mill them. A fellow sawmiller popped down for a couple of days with his stunning Trakmet Mill that’s capable of milling a whopping 1200mm wide slabs!

Was a great couple of days and we produced some stunning slabs in Oak and Elm plus a few beams.

One of my most recent projects has been to make a countertop for our kitchen island.

Ash with Burr Elm inlaid bow ties and any cracks/defects filled with resin.

A lot of work start to finish but quite happy with the results.

How do we deal with the waste produced during the milling process?

Instead of discarding the scabs, slabs, boards, whatever you call the waste we cut them into usable firewood. It’s fast drying, hot burning, zero carbon and best of all cheap.
