If I’m feeling down, stressed or just flat I turn to exercise…I work out with weights, do some stretching or have a good boogie in my kitchen!

We often focus on weight, but as we get older, strength, mobility, balance, and independence matter just as much — if not more.

Exercise doesn’t have to mean hours in the gym. Small, consistent movement can make a huge difference to physical and mental wellbeing.

Body conditioning isn’t about perfection — it’s about feeling stronger, moving better and building confidence in your body 💪✨

One of my favourite lower body exercises for women in midlife is the crab walk using a resistance band 🔥

This simple movement helps to:
✔️ Strengthen your glutes and legs
✔️ Improve balance and posture
✔️ Support your hips and knees
✔️ Build strength for everyday life

How to do it:
➡️ Place a resistance band around your ankles
➡️ Slightly bend your knees
➡️ Take small side steps, leading with the leg and keeping tension in the band

You’ll definitely feel those glutes working 🍑🔥

Try:
✨ 8–10 steps each side
✨ Repeat 3 times
