I wanted to warm luxury feel with colour, my hallway, landings and kitchen are black & white so the contrast in my lounge and dining room gives a cosy relaxed vibe. I love vintage furniture and my love of Giraffes and this is incorporated within my design along with different textures and a fusion of old and new. The fireplaces have had a more modern makeover using slat panelling as well as contemporary wall lights and ceiling lights in the dining room. I have used more traditional lamps on the chests of drawers and side table and I have kept as many original features as possible……vintage furniture and period style panelling behind the couch. Funky orange and taupe dining chairs complement the look along with touches of gold to bring it all together. It has been a labour of love but I’m really pleased how it turned out and can’t wait to enjoy the room.

Another very busy few months and yes I know I haven’t posted much about Valeries’s Vintage. After lots of messages asking where am I……..I am still here, Valerie’s Vintage is still open I have just been renovating my house in between commissions. I will post photos as promised to some of my customers especially those of you who have design consolations booked in. You have been asking and so here it is. So I had to take everything back to basics, strip the walls, floor in parts, restore the original coving and ceiling roses. Nearly 3 weeks prep of filling, sanding and a lot of dust. Prep is rather boring but the most important part.

I have had so many messages asking why I’ve not posted in a while so I thought I’d let you all know what I’ve been up to. I have been busy building a new decking in my garden, doing some home renovations and spending quality time with my children. I’m currently away with my family at the moment……a very much needed holiday, I will be back mid July so keep your eyes peeled for new pieces for sale and commission. I am still taking commission bookings for August so just drop me a message if you’re interested…..but for now I will leave you with a photo of my view today.

This beautiful Stag tall boy will be on its way to its new home this week in London. Sold in my Etsy shop, she took a while to find her home but sometimes with furniture that is a. statement piece that’s quirky or bold they take time for that perfect fit…..for that person to fall in love with it as much as I do. She did get a lot of interest…..a lot, but this piece needs its own perfect space where the room is all about her. 💙
