What does “Guillemets” mean?

Traditionally used as French quotation marks, guillemets are two mirrored symbols facing one another.

That idea became the inspiration behind the Guillemets Drawer. Designed as a sculptural pair for either side of the bed, creating balance, symmetry, and quiet dialogue within a space.

Crafted in olive burl wood and handmade in southern Italy, each piece reveals a unique natural grain pattern shaped slowly over time.

From root to grain, every piece begins long before it reaches the workshop. Olive burl forms slowly over decades, shaped by irregular growth within the tree, creating patterns that can never be repeated.

In our studio in southern Italy, each section is carefully selected, cut, and worked entirely by hand. The artisan follows the movement of the burl rather than forcing it, allowing the material to guide the final form. No two surfaces are ever the same.

Set within our family’s olive groves in the south of Italy, the Jumeaux Drawers speak to the origin of the material itself.

Olive burl reveals a natural golden grain, rich, layered, and entirely unique to each piece. Formed slowly over time, it carries a depth that cannot be replicated, only refined.

A quiet statement for the bedroom, where sculptural form meets a sense of opulence. Subtle Art Deco influence, expressed through proportion and symmetry, designed to sit with presence rather than excess.

From grove to home, the story remains intact.
