Can teak garden furniture really stay outside all year?

It’s something we’re often asked, particularly as we move towards autumn.

Grade A heartwood teak is exceptionally well suited to life outdoors. Its naturally high oil content helps protect the timber, which means the furniture can stay outside throughout the year without the need for regular oiling or sealing.

As the seasons pass, the warm honey colour will gradually weather to a soft silvery-grey. That change is completely natural and doesn’t mean the teak is deteriorating.

Our delivery team know the furniture just as well as the people in the showroom. They will place each piece where you would like it, make any final adjustments and take the packaging away with them.

Everything is left ready to use, without the inconvenience of flat-pack boxes or assembly instructions.

There is a reason Grade A heartwood teak is so highly regarded.

It comes from the very centre of the tree, where the natural oils and strongest qualities are found. As it represents only a small proportion of each tree, it is also much more difficult to source.

Those natural oils help the timber resist rot and remain outdoors year after year. Over time, it will gradually weather to a soft silver-grey without losing its strength or character.
