Good luck to all the incredible students beginning their GCSEs, A-levels and university end-of-year exams this month.

Exam season is officially here the moment so many of you have worked towards through revision sessions, coursework, late nights, stress, determination and perseverance.

To every Year 11 student stepping into their GCSE exams: believe in yourself. You are far more capable than you realise. These exams are your opportunity to show everything you have learned and how hard you have worked.

Remember to breathe, take breaks, stay hydrated and be proud of how far you’ve already come. Success isn’t just measured in grades, but in the effort, resilience and commitment you’ve shown along the way.

Wishing every student across the UK the very best of luck for exam season. Now go and shine.

As three of my children take on exams this May and June I know first hand how hard these pressures are on them. Home will be a place of laughter, relaxation and support. Go smash it we are proud parents here.

🌍 Young Heroes. Big Impact. 💚
In just three days this week, the incredible pupils of St Peter's Droitwich C of E Academy teamed up with Little Litter Warriors to remove an amazing 5,941 pieces of litter from their local community spaces and look what they found.

Their oldest find is from a Cadbury Wispa wrapper. The “16p” price point dates it to the early 1980s, specifically around 1983, when Wispa was launched nationally. In fact, a Wispa costing 16p in 1983 is well documented from its original release period.

From parks to streets, these young people didn’t just learn about protecting the environment they took action.

Even more powerful, Some of the items they uncovered dated back over 40 years, proving just how long litter can last and why education like this matters.

🌍🐾 Hampton Beavers – Litter Legends! 🐾🌍

What an un-bee-lievable effort from Hampton Beavers Colony last night! 💚

These young eco warriors removed around 700 pieces of litter from community spaces across Hampton, Evesham 👏 From everyday rubbish to far too many dog poo bags (😬), they rolled up their sleeves and made a real difference for wildlife and their local area 🌱🐦

But this wasn’t just a litter pick… it was a time-travelling clean-up! ⏳

📸 Check out some of their vintage finds:

🧴 Glass Bottle (Rose’s Lime Juice style)
• Likely circa 1960s–1980s
• Thick reusable glass – bottles like this were often returned and reused
• Shows how long glass can last in the environment if not disposed of properly

🍼 Co-operative Society Bottle
• Likely circa 1930s–1950s
• Embossed glass bottles were common before modern labels
• Could be over 70–90 years old – a real historic find!

🥔 Quavers Crisp Packet
• Dated 1993
• Early plastic packaging that doesn’t break down easily
• A powerful reminder that litter from decades ago is still here today

💭 These discoveries sparked brilliant conversations about how long litter lasts and why what we drop today can still be here when they’re grown up.

✨ 700 pieces removed. Countless lessons learned. Big impact made. ✨

We are SO proud of these Beavers – protecting wildlife, exploring their environment, and showing what teamwork can do 💪💚

🌿🐾 Little Litter Warriors in Action! 🐾🌿

What an incredible evening for the 11th Wyre Forest Harkaway Cub pack at Hurcott Woods! 💚

These amazing young litter heroes rolled up their sleeves, grabbed their litter pickers, and got stuck straight in helping to protect the woodland and the wildlife that call it home. Every piece of litter removed is a step towards a cleaner, safer environment, and these Cubs truly led by example. ♻️

But it didn’t stop there… alongside their clean-up mission, they were building practising map reading and learning all about respecting nature through the Countryside Code. Future environmental champions in the making!

A huge THANK YOU to all the Cubs for your energy, teamwork, and brilliant community spirit you’ve made a real difference and we are so proud of you!

And a special shoutout to the leaders and parent helpers for making opportunities like this possible 👏

Keep shining, little litter heroes! 🌟equipment is all yours again when you want it.

Putting all clues together of the litter found

From everything we’ve researched:
• Embossed “Co-operative Society” → common late 1800s–early 1900s
• Blob/cork top (no screw thread) → pre-1920
• No base markings → likely pre-1910
• Heavy, slightly uneven glass → earlier mould-blown production

Most likely age

👉 Circa 1890 – 1905 (very strong likelihood) ®

🔍 What the details on the bottle show.
Litter picked tonight by Beavers in

1. The cap
• The green metal cap clearly reads “L. Rose & Co Ltd – Lime Juice”
• This is a factory screw cap, not a later replacement
👉 Screw caps like this became common mid-20th century, not 1800s

2. The base
• The base has a machine-made finish with a mould mark and a stamped number
• There’s also a maker’s mark (the circular “C” style stamp)
👉 This confirms fully machine-produced glass

Base style (no machine code) → likely pre-automatic bottle machine (pre-1915)
