First things first..Whilst stripping the chair I must have removed hundreds of staples which was a real challenge with my hands as they are but, armed with a mallet, staple remover and plenty of patience over 3.5 days the staples and layers came off.

First impressions, my wingback chair looks too good to strip down but it must be done. I felt so guilty when I picked the chair up because it had obviously been looked after and to confess that I was going to completely strip it back to the frame was too much so I picked it up and bought it away from its previous owner and back to the workshop and then it began.....

Hi, welcome to my site. Please feel free to invite others to visit, the more the merrier. I am a 2nd Year student at Horsehair & Hessian in Bury St Edmunds. Having completed what was a very packed and at times crazy first year I have been assured that the 2nd year is a lot more compact and calmer with less projects to cover and complete. Hopefully this site will verify that and tell all....open and enjoy
