A gentle walking guided tour that lasts 1.5hrs so please wear comfortable walking shoes or trainers and be prepared for rain, this is England after all! Your guide will be Jim Smith who for many years was a local headteacher and who currently also works part time at Wadworth Brewery in the Visitors Centre. ng tour which will open your eyes to the wonderful market town of Devizes. Tours will start from the wide pavement area just outside The White Bear public house or The Muck & Funder rum bar and end in the market place...are you sensing a theme here at all? The tour will start at 1030, please meet 10 minutes before outside The White Bear. The guided tour will be just over 1.8 miles in length with frequent stops for information and questions, so the pace is leisurely and manageable for most folk. Please do not hesitate to contact Jim for more information or to book a place. Group bookings accepted POA for group discounts. The tour will take place in the public domain and you will be responsible for your own and any dependents health and safety. As a courtesy to other members of the tour group please refrain from smoking during the tour and ensure that mobile phones are switched to silent. If you are interested in having a walking guided tour of Devizes lasting for around an hour and a half please don’t hesitate to ring for more information. Tours do not take place on a regular basis but are more bespoke and booked a to demand wherever possible. This flexibility works better for those folk undertaking short breaks to Devizes or those on a more rigid itinerary.

Another interesting party introduced to our great town on Saturday. Good questions asked and much fun had, a big shout out to the two residents in Long Street who sheltered with us under the arch.

Well I met a really nice guy called Nic Dunlop, a very knowledgeable and interesting person. We had such a good conversation as we walked around Devizes and discussed and discovered its hidden history. Nic is an internationally renown journalist and photographer who is responsible for unmasking one of the Khmer Rouge death camp rulers. Well done Nic.

Well I had a lovely couple on my tour this morning who had lived in our great town for 19 years but still learned something new about Devizes. The weather was wonderful and the town was radiant with history and secrets to be revealed.......
