First underseal job of the year completed!
This customers CRZ was in serious need of an underside strip and underseal package, as you can see Honda were very conservative with how much underseal and seam sealer they used from factory. In fact, most seams on this car were not protected at all. If this was left for however many more years down the line it would have needed a fair bit of welding, but thankfully was caught just in time and cleaned up quite well.
The car was completely stripped back to bare metal and all rust/old underseal removed. This is the only correct way to do it and also gives a clear indication if any welding is required. Sometimes rust can be hidden or be worse than it looks on the surface.
With a clean slate, the car is coated in rust convertor to neutralise the metal. After this, the underside is hand painted with corroless glass reinforced primer. This leaves a rustproof, protective primed layer that any moisture or rust can't pe*****te into. This goes on with a few coats over time to make sure it's covered properly.
The seams are then sealed with a factory spec seam sealer. Not the cheap brush on style seam sealer that is prone to shrink and crack when it dries. Only top quality products are used throughout!
After all this is left to cure, then the top coat is sprayed on throughout, making sure not to overspray on anything at all. Brake and fuel lines are left completely paint free to make sure they can be properly monitored over time (and save having an mot advisory).
Finally, after the top coat is cured any box sections and drain holes ect are sprayed with cavity wax to protect them from the inside.
