We also design bespoke footstools to your exact specification. We supply beautiful bespoke footstools and cushions! Flossy’s Footstools was started in late memory of my Mum Florence (she was known as Flossy to her friends and family). My mum was a very successful interior designer and had a great eye for detail. When we moved from London to Scotland my Mum fell in love with everything tartan, she

opened her first shop in 1994 and made the most gorgeous bespoke furniture covered in traditional tartans. Her favourite was footstools, the house was full of them! So one day I decided to leave my job and start designing footstools and there could be only one name, Flossy’s. I have mixed my love of Chintz with my mums love of tartan. All of our footstools are handmade and come in two standard sizes, 60 cm x 40 cm and 32 cm x 32 cm. We use Queens Anne’s Legs in sizes 6 inches and 9 inches. To choose which selection you would like simply go to the create your own footstool section on the website, we are however happy to create any footstool to your own liking. We are continually extending our range of plaid fabrics from Balmorals, Kintyre, Checks, Herringbone, Heather wool collection from Moon and the soft woollen plaids from Ross Tweeds. When choosing chintz fabrics I source from independent shops, mainly based in the Lake District. Here at Flossy’s we also like to create a matching cushion with every footstool. I love designing footstools and I am delighted to announce that I have just opened my first shop which happens to be only two doors up from my mums first shop. I am always only a phone call or email away, so if you have any queries I am more than happy to help!

Our Story

Florence Anne was the name of my late mum, Florence was passionate about interior design and had a natural flair for bringing colours and textures together.

When we moved from London to Scotland my mum fell in love with everything tartan, she loved the traditional clan tartan and rich classic fabrics. In 1994 she opened her first shop Florence Anne Furnishings where she created a range of soft furniture from chairs, cushions, sofa’s and footstools, I loved her designs which are all as classic and beautiful today as they were 20 years ago.

I never had my mum’s confidence with interior design, I worked in customer service and hospitality and helped run a family business for many years, I also trained as an interpreter for the deaf. When I bought my first home I loved decorating and renovating it took many years and I was delighted when I was asked if my home could be featured in a interior home magazine, I soon realised I had inherited a small part of m mum’s talent.

When my mum past away I left my job and started Florence Anne Footstools.
