Exciting news as the first college on this year’s Bridge the Gap route has been announced!

Bridge the Gap continues to be a key fixture in our calendar and we are delighted to once again play our part as headline sponsor in helping to make this fantastic event happen.

It is always great to see our communities come together to raise vital funds for local charities and causes that make such a difference across Cambridge.

We are all looking forward to this year’s walk and to seeing Queens’ College featured on the route alongside the iconic Mathematical Bridge.

Good luck to everyone taking part on Sunday 13 September – we can’t wait to see you there! Click the link below to secure your place.

Say hello to Murray! 👋 Murray has been with us for 18 months and you can find him at our Sawston and Cambourne branches. Outside of work, Murray enjoys walking his dogs, spending time with his family, and getting creative in the kitchen. His savings tip: "If you're new to savings, start small, it doesn't matter how small - it all adds up."

Our team recently spent the afternoon volunteering at Emmaus Cambridge, helping sort donations and preparing items for their craft stall. Their efforts helped ensure more donated items were ready for sale.

By supporting Emmaus, we’re helping their mission to give people who have experienced homelessness more than just a bed for the night - providing a stable home, meaningful work, and the opportunity to rebuild skills and confidence.

Voting at our Annual General Meeting this year helped to shape the future of your building society and make a real difference locally too.

For every vote cast, we donated to our incredible community partners: Jimmy's Cambridge, Emmaus Cambridge, and It Takes A City - Cambridge, all supporting people in our community who need it most.

That means your voices helped raise £750 for great causes 👏

Thank you for being part of something bigger.

We're proud to support It Takes A City - Cambridge and their vital work to end rough sleeping in Cambridge 🏡 It Takes a City provides essential services for people experiencing homelessness, helping them access the support they need to move away from the streets and find somewhere to call home. Their commitment to ensuring everyone has a safe place to live aligns perfectly with our values, and we're honoured to stand alongside them in making a real difference in our community.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, we asked our team what they do to look after their mental health 💙 The responses reminded us just how personal wellbeing is - whether it's a chat with a friend over a cup of tea, some form of exercise, spending time with loved ones, or simply switching off from screens for a while. Taking care of our mental health is just as important as our physical health, and we're proud to work with a team who understand that. How do you look after yours?

We’re really delighted to introduce our latest Community Fund grant recipient, Concrete Rose Collective CIC, alongside the start of an exciting new multi-year partnership.

We're committing £22,500 over the next three years to help them continue the incredible work they do – providing support for young people who may not otherwise have a safety net to rely on.

Hear more from Mike Farrington, their Founder and Operations Lead, as well as one of the organisation’s beneficiaries about the difference Concrete Rose makes to young people.
