Equivital

Equivital Equivital mobile human monitoring technologies are developed by Hidalgo Limited, a Cambridge UK base

Capable of monitoring a range of physiological signs including heart rate, respiration, skin and core body temperature, activity, photoplethysmography and sleep patterns the system is used by military, emergency services, sports and sports sceince research organisations, and arctic explorers.

As one of the first companies to achieve FDA 510K in the wearable space many partners ask us for our insights on how, as a lean organisation, we achieve compliance while continuing to be innovative.

This mindset has allowed us to consistently meet regulatory expectations while continuing to push forward safely, responsibly, and confidently.

For us, trust, safety, and innovation are inseparable.

A Warm Welcome to 2026

As we step into 2026, we’ve been reflecting on just how far this community has come.
In 2025, Equivital products were used by researchers pushing boundaries in heat stress, human physiology, and real-world health monitoring. What started as tools designed to measure physiology in extreme environments have become enablers of faster insights, stronger datasets, and decisions grounded in real human data. We’ve seen our technology help shorten study timelines, unlock patterns that were previously invisible, and support research that actually translates beyond the lab.

This year also brought strong peer-reviewed validation of Equivital’s performance, including published papers benchmarking our system against widely used wearables and demonstrating the LifeMonitor’s strength for rigorous physiological monitoring in research settings. Independent evaluation like this reinforces what our users rely on every day: when the data matters, accuracy matters.

One 2025 milestone we’re especially excited about is getting the eq LifeBand to market. In 2026, we’re scaling up production with a clear goal - to get the eq LifeBand into more hands ahead of the next heat stress season. As extreme heat becomes more frequent and more dangerous, access to early, actionable physiological insight isn’t a ‘nice to have.’ It’s essential. Scaling means moving faster, reaching further, and making protection more accessible to the people most exposed.
It’s progress we’re proud of and it’s only the beginning.

Looking ahead to 2026, we see leaps, not steps. Deeper insights and broader applications. Stronger collaboration between researchers, clinicians, and communities who need solutions now, not years from now.

Thank you to the researchers, partners, and early adopters who helped shape 2025. We’re building 2026 with you and we’re excited to get started.

The eqO2+ LifeMonitor provides both invasive core pill, and non-invasive estimated core body temperature data, for researchers.

A recent study by Agostinelli et al. (2023) demonstrated that the eq02+ LifeMonitor provides statistically equivalent core temperature measurements compared to the gold standard re**al thermometer during simulated firefighting tasks. This validation underscores its reliability in extreme conditions.

With continuous data logging capabilities and seamless integration with third-party sensors including the core temperature pill, the eq02+ LifeMonitor is ideal for field studies, clinical trials, and environmental research.

Talk to our team about including core temperature in your 2026 research.

Understanding heart rate variability (HRV) is crucial for assessing autonomic nervous system function and stress responses. The eq02+ LifeMonitor offers ambulatory HRV measurements, making it an invaluable tool for researchers.

A study by Chapman et al. (2024) evaluated the day-to-day reliability of HR and HRV measurements using the eq02+ LifeMonitor in U.S. Army soldiers. The results showed good reliability for supporting its use in longitudinal studies.
