Ben Rayner Custom Woodwork

Ben Rayner Custom Woodwork The design and construction of bespoke furniture using a blend of traditional and modern techniques, as well as antique restoration projects.

Ben Rayner Custom Woodwork is the creation of Ben Rayner and his wife Jenny. We are based at a workshop near Cambridge. Ben has over 18 years experience in the creation of bespoke woodwork and antique restoration. In the late 1990’s, Ben studied Guitar Making at London Guildhall. After a period of building and repairing guitars, he moved on to a company specializing in piano restoration where he w

orked for the next 8 years. At the start of 2012, Ben decided to move away from piano restoration and start a business that would allow him to work on a wider variety of projects, not solely musical instruments. As a team, Ben and Jenny started to design furniture for their new customers. These have included dining tables, a standing desk, jewellery and a chair designed to assist people with mobility problems. They have also restored a number of pieces including numerous snooker tables and scoreboards, dining tables, chairs a linen press and other items of furniture. Whether it’s a restoration project or a custom piece, for Ben and Jenny the customer’s individual requirements are always the starting point. If you are interested in finding out more about how Ben Rayner Custom Woodwork could create that much needed item of furniture or bring a well loved piece back to life, contact Ben or Jenny.

Enjoyed a day off by dusting off my sketchpad and pencil. It won't be hanging in any galleries but I find it a really good way to clear my mind and relax.

I made these punt tables for Rutherfords Punting last summer. The laser engraving was a new process to me, but I was really happy with the results.
If you are in Cambridge, why not book a punt tour with them and enjoy the sights?
