A spectacular mahogany longcase clock featuring a very unusual silvered brass dial displaying the moons age, a separate moonphase dial, hours, minutes, date, the months of the year and a brass centre seconds hand.

The corners are engraved with the four seasons and the figures to the arch appear to depict Lady Justice and Hope. There is also a Latin phrase to the arch ‘Mensis Perpetual Dies’. The movement also features the rare use of a pinwheel escapement.

A rare and possibly unique example.

Now available- an extremely rare carriage clock by James McCabe, Royal Exchange of London. Standing at only 9 inches tall. C.1830.

The case is made from solid Coromandel wood and features brass mounts, a recessed brass handle to the top and a serpent bezel. As used by Vulliamy on his smaller clocks.

The movement has a double fusee and a very rarely seen rear mounted lever escapement. Striking and repeating on a bell.

This clock comes to us from a private home and although in working order, it will require some minimal restoration to the case and of course a full movement service.

Further details can be provided on request.
