Optimising the efficiency of pump stations and drainage, again and again. Here’s what we’ve been up to recently ⬇️

We started by post-surveying a 675mm liner, and then moved onto RAF Lakenheath for a CCTV survey and jet clean of a 32 meters 100mm VC pipe, determining the cause of a blockage using our mighty Rioned.

We then embarked on private garden investigation works for Persimmon Homes, gathering information, locations, and inverts for a sewer diversion from an old cesspit. Then, we tackled big 1050mm surface water system pipes, and cleaned and surveyed 450 foul lines, removing large amounts of silt and debris with the help of the Rob Airds combination unit. Once cleared, we were ready to complete a full structural survey.

What a busy week!

Starting with a challenge, we had to locate chambers that were 6-8 meters deep in Caistor. We then moved to a small site in Great Yarmouth to carry out plotting surveys, and then onto a larger site in Hunstanton, where we completed pre-adoption surveys and made confined entries for the removal of large amounts of silt and debris from the chambers. Using Robert Airds AndM drainage, we managed to remove x3 bungs and the debris from the 4+ meter deep chambers. Last but not least, we finished the week off refitting and adjusting penstocks ready for the commissions to go ahead at a later date.

Another successful week ✨🏆

The team started off their week on the CCTV rig supporting with surface water investigations, then moved onto helping out the team on the pump side, with the first job in Bradford on a full pump commission.

Taking a trip to Coventry saw our team partner with Alfredo Henry for two pumps and pipework replacements below both lift shafts in Boots, finishing off with a local job in Cambridgeshire in the basement of a new construction site on a full rebuild. Time for the team to put their feet up, don’t you think?!

Prioritising partnerships 🤝

The team have been supporting Alfredo Henry on pump chamber inspections in London and surface water investigation works in Norwich. Under the watchful eyes of Martins Traffic management, the teams worked together to survey 450mm concrete pipes and mapping out for our customer from the head of run to the outfall.

The team then headed to Aylsham for another project that involved tracing and mapping out a 80mm rising main. Keeping us safe guarded on the road under stop and go systems, Highways Assurance assisted with lane closure so the team could survey from the gravity fed chamber up 200 meters to the wash out. With more support from Alfredo Henry, their team were crucial in the removal of the wash out valve, allowing us to survey 200 meters beyond.

A typical day in the life of one of our experts 👷‍♂️

From a wet and muddy building site in Suffolk for pre-adoption surveys to night shifts in Cambridgeshire for surface water investigation works, with TM lane closures for dye testing to determine outfalls to ditches and root removals from 150mm pipes from gullies up to 300mm.

Due to flooding issues in the area with our findings of another outfall which was unknown, we battled the gullies with our mighty little Rioned removing silt and Debris from the pots then upgraded to the mighty muller for the 300mm outfalls for large root and heavy silt removals.
