Circular Tray in Burnt English Oak with Sawn Texture and Inner Circle.
We made this large sculptural piece for Designed to be used for tea ceremony, this piece is available on the Maud & Mabel website.

‘Crafted in English Oak, this circular tray has a wide outer edge that surrounds a gently recessed inner circle. The smaller centre sits calmly within the broad rim, creating a sense of focus. The surface shows the character of the wood, with natural markings that ground the piece.
Both functional and sculptural, the tray is made for use and display, and can rest flat on a surface or be presented on a wall’ - Maud & Mabel

We are trying to help raise some funds for our friend Abdul and his family in Gaza, as he urgently needs the money to pay their rent to avoid losing their home. And by home I mean the tent that he, his wife and their 3 young children have to live in because their home was destroyed during the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

We speak to Abdul regularly and he often sends us photos of his beautiful children (see 2nd slide) and tells us how difficult life is for them in Gaza. We help when we can and wanted to share Abdul’s fundraising campaign with you, in the hope that you may feel called to help a little too.
He urgently needs to raise $300 to pay the rent for the land that his tent is on, otherwise he and his family will be homeless very soon.

You can donate directly to Abdul’s campaign via the link here: https://shorturl.at/tQUtz Even a tiny amount can help. We will also be donating a percentage of all sales from our website over the next couple of weeks to Abdul’s urgent campaign. Visit our website here: https://www.pachadesign.co.uk/objects

Thank you for reading and please feel free to share our post.

New bench in scorched English Oak, based on our natural edged oak stools. We lightly scorched the oak on this piece to achieve a rich dark brown tone, which contrasts beautifully with the black steel bar that cuts through the base.

Last days to visit the beautiful Ritual Objects exhibition at Maud & Mabel, closing at 5.30pm on Wednesday 1st April, in the gallery and online.

“The artists in Ritual Objects work across ceramics and wood, creating pieces that sit between function and contemplation. Some remain close to familiar domestic forms, while others move toward the sculptural, expanding what a vessel can be. Bowls, cups, trays, and lidded forms invite touch, use, and reflection, encouraging a more attentive encounter with the objects we live alongside” - Maud & Mabel

Sawn texture on our Burnt Oak Inner Circle Tray.
The process to achieve this is slow but mediative, creating a subtle but tactile surface texture. Contrasted in this piece with a smooth gently recessed inner circle.

We designed and made this large sculptural piece for tea ceremony - the inner circle holding the teapot, with space for tea bowls or yunomi around the textured outer circle.

This ceremonial piece is available in the gallery and online at Maud & Mabel, as part of their current exhibition Ritual Objects until 1st April. The gallery is open today from 10am - 5.30pm.

Tray with Sawn Texture in Smoked English Ash.
Another favourite new piece for the current exhibition Ritual Objects at Maud & Mabel.

Just a few days left to visit this beautiful group exhibition in Hampstead.
If you are in London this weekend, the gallery is open Saturday + Sunday 10am - 5.30pm.

Featuring work by

Kumiko and .domoto

The exhibition considers the vessel in its broadest sense: object, gesture, ritual. Some pieces are designed for daily rituals, others for quiet moments of reflection; some echo familiar domestic forms, while others lean toward the sculptural, inspired by objects, memories, or imagined uses.
