I picked this up last week from Taunton Re-use Shop at Priorswood Recycling Centre ~ it was a little worn out, a few d***s & chips, a slightly dodgy drawer but overall not in bad shape… especially, as I discovered during cleaning, that it’s a CC41 Utility Furniture piece so approximately 75 years old!

Let me know what you think of its new look in the comments 🫶🏻 It’s had the full works done to it, cleaning, full sand, drawer repaired, painted with Cornish Milk Mineral Paint ‘Goose’, Polyvined & waxed!

Oh, and of course, it’s available to buy too! ###

Hello!

New piece just listed. This gorgeous vintage sewing box (or upcycling craft supplies box!) has had some much needed TLC. All the usual dismantling, cleaning, prep, remantling ~ a full days work on this (spread over 4 days 😂) but now it’s looking super sleek & stylish.

The interior paper, well, that is genuine late 60’s wallpaper. It’s quite apt that I’m sharing this with you today because this wallpaper used to adorn my uncles childhood bedroom & today is his birthday! We found a couple of remnants in a trunk in my grandads wardrobe & everyone thought I was mad when I said I’d take them but look how amazing it is!!!

It’s floating about on marketplace but here’s the details.

• W 44 x D 30 x H 57 cm

• Mainly original hardware, new screws
• Black Coal by Fusion Mineral Paint
• Paper sealed with Polyvine
• Finished with clear Liberon Black Bison Wax

🖤🧡💛 £65 💛🧡🖤
Update: SOLD x

Went to Ikea to buy a new table to try decoupage papers on for the first time - thought a nice fresh surface would be easier… but then proceeded to prime, paint, use a texture paste, paint some more, stipple, wax & use an ageing wax on it so it blended in with the olde-worlde image!

The primer & paints all Cornish Milk Mineral Paint, the paper was gifted to me by Oates Interiors, print sealed with Polyvine Ltd Decorators varnish then waxed all over with Liberon Black Bison waxes. I have a larger paper with this image to use, and now I’ve sussed out best way to apply (there’s a terrible ‘how to’ on my TikTok!) I’m going to use it on the drawer fronts of a vintage dressing table… no ageing required!

Agghhh, the bit I hate most! Pricing!

I have to consider original cost, materials used, my time (I’m underpaid, need to have words with my boss!), imagination & other consequential costs but also I’m very conscious of keeping the prices to an amount that stops you running off to Ikea etc etc.

Yes, you could buy brand new from a huge company that mass produces and has the buying power to keep prices low… and also have your home looking just like Mrs Smith, Mrs Jones and Tom, Dick & Harry’s 𝙊𝙍 you could have unique one of a kind statement pieces that have, in many cases, been saved from the fate of becoming landfill. Pieces, some of which are classed as genuinely antique, that have a long history of homes & families soaked into their essence, that tell a story… or just look funky and Mrs Jones definitely doesn’t have one like it (unless you are Mrs Jones of course!).

Anyway, before I do lots of individual listings I thought I’d come on here first with a little montage. So here’s the rundown of the video…

•Glam Console Table £85
•Penny Wine Table £65
•Whatnot £85
•Rainbow Nest £115
•Cactus Corner £60
•Octagon Table £135
•Demilune Shelves £65
•TKintsugi Maxx £65
•Perjohan £55 (yes, I went to Ikea 😂)
•Dab Sewing £95
•Purple Stool £30 ~ SOLD 💜
•Chess Side Table £95
•Pink Table £35
•Cadbury Cabinet £145

Oh, I should add that my prices also reflect that I don’t offer the convenience of shipping or have courier costs built in to my prices!

There’s more to come but they’re still stuck in the garage behind the builders materials! (Ercol sideboard, a Komoda, a gin cabinet, the Bowie table and a few half completed projects) ~ these are just the smaller bits that I could bring in the house!

So if you’re interested in any of these or would like to know more details/see static pictures etc etc, then please pop me a message. Thanks for watching & reading my terrible sales pitch 😂… and if you agree that my boss is underpaying me feel free to offer more but please don’t offer less!!

Making ‘Fit for the Tip’ Beautiful Again

The #PaintedFurniture side to my business all started because I wanted a unique piece of furniture for my living room but couldn’t find anything that matched what was in my head... or my budget! I found a beautiful but very unloved sideboard for £20 and decided to ‘have a go’ at refinishing it. Not only did I LOVE my new blue Art Deco sideboard but I LOVED the process. I ventured on and did a few more pieces for my home and I wasn’t bored yet!

I adore vintage furniture. It is so well crafted, and although a piece may have a few nicks and dents, they are usually still strong and sturdy. Unfortunately so many beautiful pieces of furniture get sent to the shed or worse, the tip. So I decided that I would help reduce waste one painted drawer or door at a time. To bring Vintage into the 21st Century Home. To make Preloved Reloved.
