What a way to end off the summer with Shambala Festival and Greenbelt Festival!

This was our biggest weekend of the year - but what a success it was!

✨ over 12 million app interactions
✨ 100k app data updates (with 99.99% success, even with incredibly poor signal!)
✨ over 400k notifications sent out to attendees
✨ 290k performances added to attendee’s personalised schedules
✨ 250k searches performed (beer is again right at the top, like last year!)

With some pretty challenging weather conditions, it was great to see our event partners making great use of notifications to send attendees important guidance, and it was amazing to see that we could push hundreds of programming changes out to attendees even with exceptionally poor signal. Our event partners also got to see our brand new organiser app in the fields too, which made it so much easier to collect GPS coordinates & ensure every location on site showed perfectly in the app. We’re excited to add more functionality to the organiser app over the next few months to turn it into one of the best organiser tools on the market!

We loved speaking with attendees about their app experiences about how the app helped them get more out of the event, and it was amazing to see our fabulous clients in person and be on-hand to answer any questions there and then, when at times the weather added more and more complications.

We're beyond proud of our seamless integration with the Crescat platform, built initially for our shared event partner Greenbelt Festival, and now available for all our event partners.

For large events, having a single source of truth for data makes all the difference. A single source of truth means that when things change (and change quickly) you only have to think about updating one thing, and everything else falls into place. Our integration with Crescat streamlines this process: update your lineup, artist details and more in Crescat, and then have the data seamlessly sync into your VIKIN-powered attendee app.

As we've seen with Greenbelt Festival, having a single source of truth for data means you can provide in-depth details that give your attendees the ability to really discover your event. Attendees love discovering new artists from detailed profiles, links out to their most recognisable songs to generate interest, beautiful images that draw attention to profiles, and quotes from reviews - as seen by the over 1.2 million screen views in the Greenbelt app before the event has even started.

You always remain in control of what attendees see - just mark content as 'draft' or 'available' within Crescat, and anything in draft stays private until you're ready for attendees to see it.

Greenbelt have been delighted with our integration with Crescat, and we're excited to continue to work with both Greenbelt and Crescat to add new features and improvements to make the lives of organisers easier for even more events.

It’s safe to say - the Greenbelt and Shambala attendees are LOVING their new apps - with both Greenbelt and Shambala sitting solidly at the top of the charts for Entertainment apps in the UK for over a month!

We’ve been busy in the run up to these great festivals - launching features like our brand new timeline & clash-finder, custom sessions, in-app notes, and custom Find My locations to name just a few! We’re so happy that thousands of attendees are loving these features, and that they’ve been able to use our VIKIN apps to plan and get the most out of their time in the fields!

We’re not done yet though - we’ve got a few more features up our sleeves to release before next week… 👀

We’re thrilled to announce that the Shambala 2026 app - powered by VIKIN is STILL #1 for Entertainment on the UK App Store! 🤩

Since the app launched last week, we’ve received incredible feedback from attendees - from how seamless the clashfinder is, to how helpful it is to have custom sessions in-app, and how clear our interactive map is! We’ve been active in the Shambala Facebook groups directly talking with attendees to answer questions and receive feature suggestions - with countless new features being prioritised in our roadmap for upcoming updates.

Simply open the app, add your van or tent location, and then use the in-app directions to find your way back in the dark at night. Simple and straightforward - and a very well-loved feature by our attendees!

We’re thrilled to announce that Teddy Rocks, a multi-award-winning family-friendly charity music festival, is joining the VIKIN Event Apps platform!
Teddy Rocks attendees will be able to use the new Teddy Rocks app to see the full line-up, build their personalised schedule, find the stages and food vendors on site, search for what interests them - fully offline!
It all started with a gig in a pub and now with a capacity of 7,500 attendees a year, Teddy Rocks has raised over £800,000 since 2011 and is an award winning festival. We’re excited to join forces to raise well-needed funds to help children with cancer and excited for Teddy Rocks joining VIKIN Event Apps platform.
We’ll see you live from 1st to 3rd May and all year round on the new Teddy Rocks app!

What a great week in Canowindra for the Canowindra International Balloon Challenge!!

We've loved seeing the daily balloon launches, getting to experience and support local businesses in Canowindra, the spectacular Home Ground Sounds, and the beautiful Cabonne Community Glow! ✨

We've also had an excellent time on-site meeting all of the attendees - we've received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback about how the launch notifications were really helpful, how showing local businesses in the app helped show people what the town had to offer, and how having the complete schedule to-hand let attendees plan their day, knowing they wouldn't miss out on anything.

It's great to also be able to share that our first international deployment was an amazing success - with our platform performing perfectly, our brand new data update notifications working seamlessly to immediately update app content, and our offline-first app was able to handle poor network conditions without issue.

We are so excited to travel back to Aus soon for our next events - if you're looking for an event app that is proven to work & has received overwhelmingly positive feedback - drop us a message! 🤩
