I’m not decorating this week but even in this heat I find it almost impossible to do nothing!

This was a nice little project that hadn’t even made it onto a list so doubly satisfying to have done it!

I noticed these tiles when some paint chipped off a few years ago and as 1930s houses have very few ‘original features’ I thought I’d keep them (I’m pretty sure they aren’t original but I like them!).

This porch gets no sun and is cold in the winter and after some research the good old Aspidistra (popular with Victorians in their cold, dark houses) seemed to be the only choice.

Welcome to Aspidistra corner 🪴

I never get bored of this!

This room has been a joy to complete.

It’s another beautiful transformation. The colour is warm and cosy when it’s dark and glows when the sun is shining. The ceiling and woodwork are now a fresh, clean white and the room is ready to move into.

I caulked all the edges to get clean lines and recaulked around the windows. It was a joy to get a nice clean line around the fireplace and scrape the previous paint off the window frames.

This room will be a wonderful place to sleep, relax and rest in.

Now booking for October onwards so get in touch if you’d like a quote.

What a fabulous day we had when and I gave a Decluttering talk to theBalsall Heath and Moseley WI

They were a wonderful, friendly group of ladies and were really engaged in the subject of Decluttering and Professional Organisation. The FAQs could’ve gone on for the rest of the day - I had to drag my ‘last orders at the bar’ voice out from my days of working in a pub.

They gave us a fabulous write up in their newsletter so we thought we’d share it with you all. We’ve already had requests from a few other groups for more talks!

Thanks to Lisa for the write up and for the photos. We particularly love the photo of us and Karen sorting out the knicker draw!

Watch Horace the Jumblin’ Bear take on his jumble journey 🧸✨

What a day we had! Thank you so much to everyone who came along to our Jumble Sale on Saturday at We had a great time and loved raising funds for the World Scout Jamboree

One of our favourite parts of the day was hearing all your stories — childhood memories, treasured finds, and tales of local jumble sales from years gone by. We’d love to hear more, so share your favourite jumble memories in the comments 👇

And a HUGE thank you to everyone who:
✨ donated jumble
✨ stored jumble
✨ carried jumble
✨ transported jumble
✨ bought jumble
✨ and fully embraced the wonderful world of jumble for the last few months!

and I genuinely couldn’t have done it without you.

A special thank you to Jane, Scarlett, Maisie and Flo for making us feel so welcome at . If you haven’t visited yet, go and check them out — there’s always something brilliant happening there 😀

Hallway transformation!

This hallway was tired yet had so much potential so it was time to get it sorted out.

The customer had taken some of the flaking paint off the bannisters but it all needed to come off so I spent a couple of days scraping (weirdly satisfying 😂).

Then I did the usual prep of filling, sanding and priming. I used a stain blocker on the stains from an old water leak, cut out the loose wallpaper and filled and caulked all the edges so I could cut in cleanly.

Once all that was done I painted the walls in Optiva 5 by in Silk Road and Batiste.

It looks clean, fresh and welcoming. A place that you want to linger in and not rush through.

Now booking for September/October so if you have any rooms you’d like to chat about please drop me a message.

Teenager incoming!

A move to secondary school and a move out of a shared bedroom. I love this kind of job. The possibilities, the future, the space to be who you are all starts with your own space whether it’s your first bedroom, first flat or first family home.

Putting your stamp on it is key.

This fabulous colour is Milkshake by It shows off fabulous strong tones on cloudy dark days and lightens to the lightest glow on sunny days.

The Milkshake has been beautifully complemented by the green skirting and door frame moving this room away from being a classic pink room to something more versatile.

I can’t wait to see what it looks like with furniture and accessories.

Do you look after your wooden worktop?

Most people don’t have the tools or the time but I have both!

This worktop needed some love and attention. The previous finish was stained and cracked so it was time to take it all off and start again.

Before sanding I removed any engrained kitchen grease and dirt to stop the sanding nets getting instantly blocked. I used a tungsten carbide blade to gently take off the top layer.

Once I’d done that I got going with the sander. I took off any remaining varnish and sanded back to an even finish.

Then I removed any dust with a tak cloth and the wiped the surface down with white spirit.

Once that had dried I applied a coat of Top Oil and left that overnight. The next day I gave it a very light sand and applied a second coat of Top Oil.

My customers were really happy and said:

‘We LOVE the worktop finish’ 🙌

If I can help revive your kitchen worktop get in touch.

Jumble anyone?

and I had a great evening sorting jumble ready for our Jumble Sale on 9 May (2-4)

I don’t know why sorting out bags of unwanted stuff is so satisfying but it really is!

Pop it in your diary and come along and bag a bargain!

We also need a name for the bear on the chair - suggestions welcome!
