Acknowledgments
McCARTHY CHRISTOPHER (Chris)

The family of the late Chris McCarthy (RIP) wish to acknowledge most sincerely the many people who sympathised with them in their recent bereavement.

The expressions of shock, sadness, and genuine respect for Chris, a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and neighbour is so very comforting to us. We thank all those people who came to our family home to pay their respects – the many sympathy/mass cards, floral bouquets, and photo keepsakes are greatly appreciated.

We acknowledge with gratitude those who tirelessly worked with Chris in his final moments – the general public and medical staff are to be commended for their compassion and expertise. We will be eternally grateful to Joe, Stephanie & Eimear for stepping up when needed most.

We acknowledge our own family members and friends who kept us going with food and refreshments and for their continued love and endless support.

We acknowledge with thanks Deacon John for his spiritual guidance and funeral service,
PJ Brown Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which they conducted the funeral arrangements.
Our Brenda for the beautiful floral tributes, and finally Anna for her angelic singing.

Chris’ family always came first, his friends a close second. He never forgot his roots – Co. Waterford, his birthplace, was special to him. We are so grateful to family members who travelled to pay their respects.

Chris had a genuine courtesy and regard for his work colleagues, we thank his former Bass Ireland pals Terry & Marty for their attendance.
We also thank his Tesco Donegal Place colleagues for their attendance. In recent years, they afforded him a new audience for his array of dated jokes and funny tales, making others laugh brought him a lot of joy.

It is virtually impossible to express our gratitude to each person individually but we trust this acknowledgment will be accepted by all as a token of our grateful appreciation.
Mass offered for your intentions.

Finally, an unconditional thank you to our three children Christopher, Ellie & Niall for the dignified manner in which you handled this tragedy. Dad was extremely proud of each of you individually as children and the adults you became, his spirit will always remain with you.
To our Missy, GaGa is watching over you always & forever ###x

Months Mind Mass for Chris will be celebrated in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Tuesday 9th June 2026 at 6:30pm.
