erset and Wiltshire. ‘Larkspur’ , a traditional wide beam canal boat is moored in the beautiful sleepy village of Bathampton, a stones throw from Bath. Larkspur comfortably sleeps 6 and is aimed at the middle /higher end of the canal boat hire market. Our boat, being a widebeam (10 foot wide) is far more comfortable for a better social experience with your family than the traditional hired narrowboat (6 feet wide) and is no less difficult to steer and navigate. Inside, Larkspur is fitted out with great quality furnishings (mostly John Lewis), has unlimited wifi and is equipped with everything to enjoy your week's excursion including a wood burner for frosty nights. Clients get a full handover in navigating the boat as well as trying out the odd lock and swing bridge to make sure they are happy handling her before I leave. Places to see along the way through the picturesque countryside include Dundas and Avoncliffe Aqueducts, Bradford on Avon, Caen Hill flight of locks, Devizes and of course the City of Bath!

10th Year Anniversary!!

We have now been in business for over 10 years giving families, groups
and couples an amazing experience on the Kennet and Avon canal here in
Somerset, Bath.

We continue to strive to provide excellent facilities and comprehensive
tuition which has helped us maintain 5 stars ratings/reviews on trip
advisor and Google.

Why hire from us?

Location – cruise west into Bath city for the evening or cruise east
into the beautiful Somerset/Wiltshire countryside. Caen Hill flight of
locks is also within distance,

Widebeam – why hire a narrowboat when you can have the luxury of a
wider broadbeam boat that is 10ft wide as opposed to 6ft wide.

Luxury/bespoke fit out as opposed to the box standard rentals of larger
fleet companies. We provide towels and bedding at no extra charge.

Training and handover – We give all customers a comprehensive handover
going through all aspects of safety especially when doing navigation,
locks, swing bridges, mooring and setting off.

Duel heating systems for hot water and heating.

No extra charges for diesel/distance travelled.

Start your adventure heading westwards into the City of Bath for a night or navigate east through some of Somerset’s and Wiltshire’s most beautiful countryside stopping at the odd pub along the way. Our boat caters for family holidays up to 6 people and is a widebeam as opposed to a narrowboat for extra space. All training is given in a 2 hr slot before departure to make sure you relax and unwind upon your weeks holiday!
