We can finally share the interior photos from Gilliard’s Farm - West Down 🏡

In our last post, we showed you the exterior – now it’s time to take a look inside.

The project includes four separate homes: a restored farmhouse, a semi-detached one-bedroom bungalow, and two apartments converted from old barns and sheds.
Each one has its own unique character, and together they tell a beautiful story of thoughtful design and careful restoration.

We want to thank our wonderful clients – it was a real pleasure working with you!!
You listened, collaborated, and gave us the freedom to help bring your vision to life. We hope we’ve created exactly what you dreamed of, with no major compromises.

A lot of reclaimed materials were reused throughout the interiors – from the old farmhouse floorboards and reclaimed slate, to original timber beams and visible roof structures. Nearly all the exposed wood you see was carefully salvaged during demolition and brought back into the build. This gave the homes a strong sense of history and character, and we’re proud of how beautifully it all came together.

Together, we made the dream come true ✨!

Comprehensive Farmyard Restoration – A Return to Tradition with MK Millennium Limited ✨

Earlier today, we shared the first post about this project, and now we’re continuing the story. This farmyard restoration is something we’ve been working on for well over a year, and it consists of four independent residential units, carefully rebuilt using traditional techniques to preserve their historic character.

But that’s not all! As part of this project, we also carried out extensive groundworks and renovated two additional barns, making them practical and functional for future use while maintaining their authentic look.

🔨 Key aspects of the project:
🏡 Farmhouse – Originally, this building was 80% dismantled and rebuilt using the same methods as when it was first constructed. We used lime render and lime mortar, along with reclaimed stones, to restore its historical charm.
🏡 Cottage (1 bedroom) – A former shed transformed into a cozy home with a large garden. Inside, everything has been preserved in a traditional style, including a bathroom that fits the era.
🏡 Two-story cottage (2 bedrooms) – Once a barn, now a fully functional home with a rustic atmosphere, faithfully reflecting the original architecture.
🏡 Another two-story cottage (2 bedrooms) – Completely rebuilt using historical materials and methods to stay true to the farmyard’s heritage.

Beyond the residential units, we carried out extensive groundworks, an essential part of the project. We also renovated two additional barns, repurposing them for practical use while preserving their historical value.

What makes this project unique? No architect involvement – all designs and solutions came from MK Millennium Limited’s experience and direct collaboration with our clients. Every aspect was developed based on practical knowledge and expertise in traditional construction techniques, ensuring that the final result stays true to the farmyard’s original essence.

A huge thanks to Best Price Building Materials, who supplied the materials for this project. Thanks to their competitive pricing, our clients were able to save a fortune, allowing them to take a big step forward in restoring this property to its former glory.

BEFORE&AFTER 🙌 Our latest project is one we’ll never forget!

This time, we brought an old farm back to life. Most of the buildings were rebuilt from scratch and fully modernized, but we made it our mission to preserve the unique soul of the place.

We carefully reused original elements — old beams, weathered wood, and distinctive decorative details — giving them a second life and creating a space that blends history with fresh energy.
