After watching all the amazing fireworks going off with a bang at Barlaston Cricket Club last night … I thought I’d show you the results of my latest firecracker 🧨 😬
Honestly I’m so happy with how it’s turned out ❤️ definitely worth saving, the cost to transform … bit of elbow grease and some oven cleaner! Bargain ✨✨

So here we go again… oven cleaner at the ready 🤦‍♀️. So this is an already painted and waxed little cabinet.
Although, I love recycling by painting cabinets, just lately I’m loving bringing back the wood. So … watch this space 💥💥🎃🧙‍♀️🎃💥💥

So eventually it’s finished. Wooohoooo 🙌🙌🙌🙌
I’d love to say that using oven cleaner worked out to be time and cost effective … short truth is nope! Not for me, seemed to take forever and when you have a little one dangling from you, wanting to help 🤷‍♀️… you want it to work and quickly!
So after stripping what I could with the oven cleaner, sanding, bleaching and whitewashing (still a very red tone) then varnishing here are the results.

So here’s an update on using oven cleaner to remove varnish …. Jeeeez it’s been a slow slow process. Can’t say I’ll be using it again. I’ve seen lots of people on the gram using it with fantastic results … here in the old UK our oven cleaner just isn’t as effective. Love to know if anyone has had more success … still a little way to go but I’ll post the finished product. In the meantime here is where we are so far 😩😩🙏🙏

So from a tired, dated looking cabinet to a totally revived (gotta get the name in 😃) stunner!! Just needs a little bit more attention and then varnished for a durable finish.
Wait for the reveal 💕💕💕

And here’s the finished piece… I am so so happy with how this has turned out. It’s 🌈🌈beautiful 🌈🌈 from a dark mahogany coloured wood stain to such a statement for any kitchen, bathroom or ANY room! Great deep shelves and 4 drawers.
Solid wood wall dresser, overlayed 3 colours of Annie Sloan paint, distressed using sand paper and waxed to seal. Wallpapered back (my favourite) and sealed to protect. As the paper has a modern edge to it, I’ve gone with gold brass modern looking handles. These can always be changed, I just think it pulls the design together.
As always this has been revived and therefore marks, paint effect’s etc.. have purposely been created to work with the character of the furniture.
