Re. Xmas tree post 30 Dec 2025.2

So our Christmas tree selling time is over and those trees remaining are breathing a sigh of relief!

Firstly to thank all of our “Guests” for coming to our farm this year, both old customers and many new ones. We very much appreciated your interest and kind support. A busy time for us but so good to meet up with you all after so long, to hear how your year has been and to update you over what has been happening at our little Lodge in Ethiopia.

The weather has been quite kind for us all, though frosty or snowy trees would have been great! Previous years had given our trees the look of Narnia.

There were a few muddy bottoms coming down the slippery slope and even more sticky faces from the melted marshmallows but I think everyone enjoyed themselves, and the Lucky Dip didn’t run out!

Almost the New Year which we really hope will be good for you all and for the World, and now Selas and I have to plan how we balance the management of our trees with the journey back to our Lodge.

As for our trees we have to replant some of the gaps, not only with baby Norway Spruce but also some Grand Fir natural regeneration, moved from under a big “Mother” tree. Other young trees that have been “engulfed” by dominant neighbours, will also have to be relocated to give them a future. Not all the gaps will be replanted with Christmas trees since we plan to gradually enrich the area with indigenous tree and shrub species, such as Oak, Beech, Hazel, Holly, Field Maple, Ash etc.

While we have always had problems with Rabbits and Roe Deer, during this last year we had new visitors in the form of Muntjac Deer, which while being fascinating they have done a lot of damage to young trees by stripping the bark when scratching the velvet off their little antlers. This has meant and will mean more tree guards and more replacement seedlings. Such is life!

OK, all for now, and just once again to say thank you and to wish you all the very best in 2026.

If you are passing please call in for a chat and a coffee!

Selas, Katrina and Mike

Well, here we are again! Today is the 4th of November and the season of good cheer is almost upon us. We hope that your year has been good despite all the worries of the World. So, our trees have grown well, due to early good rains, and we have plenty of all sizes, shapes and colours!

We plan to open on Monday 24th. November, from 9 am to dark, for 7 days a week, up until mid December. The log fire awaits with Spanish Chestnuts and Marshmallows, hot, mulled fruit juice and of course the Lucky Dip; all free as always!

We still have some tidying to do and firewood to collect from the plantation. Extra tree netting has also been ordered, but saws yet to be oiled!!

Selas has only just returned from Ethiopia where she has been successfully getting our destroyed Lodge back on its feet and obtaining much-needed support. Her news is good, just the country is very sadly still bubbling.

Our Christmas trees helped us to develop the Lodge from 2008 onwards, and will continue now to help us to rebuild and hopefully to bring back into focus the many projects we conceived to help the local communities, their environments and the wildlife.

Our prices remain the same as they have for many years, and we are so much looking forward to seeing you very soon for a catch up and of course your special tree.

Our very best wishes for now, for Christmas and for the year ahead.

On this Boxing Day afternoon it’s grey, misty and dripping; time to sit in front of a blazing log fire and to relax?! Our Christmas Tree season has now finished and those trees remaining can wait for Spring to come back into life. Selas, Katrina and I would like to thank all our customers, old and new for the support that you have given to us, and for the opportunity to catch up with the last 12 months of your news. The support that you have generously given
will be used to help re build our Ethiopian Lodge, that can allow us to implement the health and environmental projects that we had previously planned. Once we are confident that Ethiopia is once again safe for visitors then we would kindly like to invite you to come to stay with us, and maybe for you to identify an opportunity to join with us to help those who cannot easily help themselves. At this point we would like to wish you all a happy, healthy and peaceful 2025, and to hope that the World we live in becomes kinder. Our very best wishes Selas, Katrina and Mike.

Good evening all of our wonderful Christmas trees customers ☃️🌲 Unfortunately, at times, good deeds and kindness are taken advantage of. This Monday, a customer picked a beautiful tree but advised us that she hadn't brought any means of paying. As she has been a regular customer, my mother felt no need to not trust her and her family when they said they'd come back with payment. Unfortunately, they haven't returned and it's been a good few days 😔✨ As a result, please ensure you bring enough cash to cover the cost of your tree as we can no longer take risks 🙏🏽 As you know, my parents invest so much love, time, and energy in growing their beautiful trees and creating an experience that families can cherish. It broke my heart to hear this. If the individual who hasn't paid reads this, we'd really appreciate the payment as soon as possible ✨💖🌟 With love and festive wishes Christon Christmas Trees 🌲✨🌟

Celebrating my 2nd year on Facebook. Thank you for your continuing support. I could never have made it without you. 🙏🤗🎉

Season's greeting to all. Its now that time and our trees are waiting to see you. We plan to open on Wednesday 27th. November until Sunday 15th. December; 9am to 4pm, 7 days a week. Our lovely rainy year has encouraged our trees to grow so well. We have plenty of all sizes (4-20 foot plus!), shapes and colours. Our main species are traditional Norway Spruce, citrus-smelling Grand Fir, and icy Blue Spruce (also some Blues are green/grey). They are all still growing so when you harvest them (cut or dig) by putting them in water (and keep as cool as possible) they will stay happy for a long time. Selas, Katrina and I have been growing our trees since 1994, primarily to support our Ethiopian project, that seeks to help those who cannot easily help themselves. We are still trying despite a major setback! If you visit our tree farm you will find beautiful surroundings on the slopes of the Mendip Hills, and enjoy free mulled fruit juice, lucky dip, Marshmallows, Spanish Chestnuts and chairs around a log fire. Children can play hide n'seek among the trees. If you haven't visited us before I am sure that you will enjoy the experience. We look forward to seeing you and wishing you all a very happy and peaceful Christmas and New Year ahead. Selas, Katrina and Mike.
