For many students, their upholstery class becomes the highlight of their week.

Our workshop brings together people from across Kent who share a love of creativity, craftsmanship, and making. Some join us looking for a new hobby, others with dreams of a career change, but all become part of a welcoming and supportive community.

Our AMUSF Professional Upholstery Diploma is taught one day a week during term time, taking students from beginner level through to advanced upholstery skills over three stages.

Along the way, beautiful furniture is restored, confidence grows, friendships are formed, and skills develop that can last a lifetime.

What a transformation!

This classic Parker Knoll wing chair has had a complete redesign, taking it from tired and worn to a real statement ✨

The new buttoned back and bold upholstery completely change the look of the chair, giving it a much more supportive and modern feel while still keeping that classic shape.

A closer look at our upholstery student Liz’s beautiful footstool ❤️

After sharing the matching wing back chair and footstool recently, we thought this little beauty deserved its own moment.

The tapestry style floral fabric is full of colour and detail. Liz put so much care into creating the perfect match to her chair.

She looks pretty pleased with the finished result, and rightly so 😊

One of the best parts of learning upholstery is discovering you can create pieces that are completely tailored to your own home 😊

You can design something beautifully bespoke for your space, like this headboard made perfectly to fit a loft room with a pitched ceiling.

And often those awkward little corners and unused spaces can end up becoming the cosiest spots in the house.
