I bought this fireplace insert about 30 years ago intending to install it into my house I was renovating. I sold the house before that job was done, and moved on. I kept the insert because I liked it so much and they are not easy to find, but I never had a house of the same period again. So now it’s got to go. Price £125

The cast iron needs going over with a wire brush and then blackening with Zebrite Grate Polish or something similar. The effect will be amazing, it will bring out the detail of the decorations and make it shine. Please look at the photos carefully to understand it’s condition.

I bought this bike about 12 years ago and used it many times, it was a very comfortable ride, you sit up straight, looking at where you are going with the handlebars coming back to meet you, and no backache! Sadly, it now has to go.

It was made by Raleigh in Nottingham, probably after the war, it is painted in the classic British Racing Green, it has a rare four speed Stermey Archer gear system, a well sprung leather seat by Brooks, an integral lock but no key, and an original kick stand.

The bike has 26 inch wheels, it is 59 cm from seat column to handlebar column, 175 cm overall length. At the moment the seat height is 91 cm and the overall height is 103 cm, but both these are adjustable.

The bike has been neglected over the last five years, but I’m told it’s restorable and worth doing as they are very sort after. Please look at the photos carefully to understand it’s condition.

Went out buying yesterday, look what was peering down at me, begging to be bought. Said to be from a circus, I think it would have been hung on the radiator grill of the Lorford as the circus came to a new town. Large, fibreglass and painted.

Couldn't resist this stylised cat planter in terracotta whilst out buying. Not my usual thing but loved its shape and look. Purrfect purrchase purrhaps. (Auto correct had a field day with that).
